Taking Care of Your Soul is As Important As Your Body
In the past few weeks, I’ve dedicated my time to improving my health by moving my legs and into healthy dieting. With all the stuff I’ve done, I realized that taking care of the physical body isn’t enough to say that you are well and healthy. When it comes to the other side, spiritual per se, admit it or not, most of us are negligence of its welfare.
On Losing Someone
I’ve thought about this thing while seeing too many depressing, distressing, and sad news on social media about losing someone. Who is prepared for this? Perhaps, there is none, even those people who knew that this time would come. That is why it is vital to keep ourselves equipped so when the unexpected happens, we can face it wholly and strong.
Spiritual Equipping
There are many ways to equip ourselves with these kinds of battles.
1. Prayer
The most common is prayer. It is beautiful that prayers can assure us that despite everything, someday, it will be okay. Prayer is more powerful when there are two or more united in the same prayer, bowing down the knee in one purpose. The great thing about prayer is that you can say everything that you want without the feeling of being judged by the people around.
2. Meditation
Another thing that we can do is to meditate; there are different types of meditation. Mindfulness is one of the most popular kinds; it is an excellent way to relieve the stress and accept the things that are happening in your surroundings. Acceptance is vital in moving on; one cannot cope up without fully accepting. If you have regrets, leave it all behind and recognize what is currently happening. Reality kicks you, but you still have to live your life.
3. Fellowship with Encouraging people
Aside from prayer and meditation, one way to be strong is to be surrounded by encouraging people. It is easier to cope up with a loss when you are surrounded by good vibes, with your loved ones, and people who care and uplift your spirit. Apart from your family and loved ones, you can also have fellowship with your spiritual brethren, friends, and colleagues.
4. Yoga
Yoga is one of the most potent medicine for the mind. The practice of Yoga has been popularized due to its efficiency and positive effects on people who tried it. Yoga will uplift your spirit, teach you discipline, self-confidence, and bring backs your self-esteem. You can peaceably find your way back to yoga.
Final Thoughts
Taking care of your mind and spirit is must-haves, it is as important as your physical body. We may be looking great outside like a red, bright apple but rotten inside. What’s outside must also reflect on the inside, so start taking care of your spiritual health.
We must accept that not all things that will happen to us are guaranteed beneficial or good for us, there are things that we don’t want to occur but will eventually happen. One is losing someone, and it is inevitable, it will come no matter how hard we avoid it. What matters is how we handle it, strong, bold, and spiritual. As they say, it is not the situation which will dictate your attitude, but your attitude is the one who will determine your situation.
