Ren has asthma?
My son was diagnosed to have asthma when he was only 1 and a half years old. His doctor advised us to buy a baby haler and give Ren a puff of Seretide (from Glaxo Smith) twice in the morning and twice at night everyday. After 6 months she lessened the dosage to 1 puff in the morning and 2 puff at night, which lasted for another 6 months.
After a year, Ren did not encounter any asthma attack so I decided to stop it.
Last time, Ren had a viral infection and he needs to take an antibiotic, every 4 hours we needed to nebulize him and the pediatrician asked me to bring back the inhaler.
I don’t know if I will follow it or not. Don’t get me wrong, of course I know doctors are professional and they know what they are doing but my sister in law told me before that his son was misdiagnosed to have asthma and that they took the inhaler for 8 months then when they had a second opinion to an allergologist (A scientist who studies allergology) he said that her son does not have asthma at all.
Maybe to help me decide I will ask for a second opinion, what do you think?

Curing asthma quite dangerous. I mean, a friend of mine told me (who happens to have a child that has asthma) that if they are too much expose with the medicine of course there will be side effect that soon may cause another problem. I remember one time, before (way back 1900s) elderly used to stay near the sea to prevent or perhaps, walain ung asthma meron sila.. Although haven’t heard any scientific explanation about it yet… people found it really effective daw. And I am not pro in giving medicine for consecutive usage..

If I were you, I’ll go for a second opinion just to be sure.

i think it is more of a preventive measure as to letting him use again the inhaler so his asthma won’t be as bad as before anymore, sis. observe 1st his breathing and if you feel there is still a need for an inhaler, then might as well use it again. then see what happens from there. hope he gets well soon.
