Spent a day with my son at Le Petit Souffle Plus Check Out their Cake and Coffee pairings
A few days ago, my son and I were at Makati for his DevPed evaluation schedule (more on that on the next post). It was lunch time when we finished so I decided to bring him to Century City Mall for our lunch.
While at the GRABCar, Ren kept on asking if we will be going to a posh mall since he likes anything fancy. Actually I think he prefers clean area that’s why. I told him that yes it is and we will dine in a Japanese-French inspired restaurant called Le Petit Souffle. He got excited.
When the menu was given, guess what? the first thing he pointed at was the Steak at Frites, gosh as much as I want to order it too I cannot because it’s quite expensive for us (I think it was P1,450 per meal).
I showed him the Just Mac and Cheese in the menu because he and his dad like mac and cheese and he agreed. He also asked me to order Kinoko Frites. While I ordered a Squid Ink riz for me because I love it.
The first dish that arrived on our table was the Kinko Frites P235.00. It was wiped out after few minutes. We love it to bits. You should try this one if ever you decide to visit this restaurant.
Then the Just Mac and Cheese P325.00 arrived. Ren wanted to dig in immediately, glad I was able to take a picture of it first. As you can see, it was so cheesy. Ren finished half of it and took home the other half that his dad enjoyed at home too.
Then the Squid Ink Riz P395.00 arrived. I love seafoods and there are a lot of it (squid, shrimp and mussels) on it. It was a delight to see on the table. If only I’m not into carbohydrates diet, I think I could finish the whole plate, but I was able to control myself and just ate half of it and again bring home the other half home.
We ended our lunch with a Strawberry and Lychee Parfait P250.00
Ren loved it and finished it fast haha. We went home with a happy tummy 🙂

Le Petit Souffle and Yardstick unveil new cake and coffee pairings
French-Japanese bistro Le Petit Soufflé teamed up with Yardstick Coffee to introduce three new pairings composed of their respective expertise: pastry and coffee. The tie-up coincided with the launch of Workshop, the bespoke patisserie within Le Petit Soufflé Megamall.
First up is the Basque Burnt Cheesecake. Baked at a higher temperature to achieve its caramelized and nearly burnt top, it remains smooth and custardy inside.
The 17-layer Chocolate Cake, meanwhile, has alternating Valrhona Araguani 72% Ganache and moist sponge cake, all dressed in 70% Guanaja chocolate glaze and glaçage. Who says a little math can’t be enjoyable?
Subtlety and purity are the Pistachio Roulade’s charm. It’s made of 100% pureed pistachios cake and filling.
Yardstick’s crafted drinks bring elements to the table that elevates the character of each cake. “We really wanted the cakes to shine and the beverages to play the best supporting role,” says Yardstick co-founder Andre Chanco.
For the Basque Burnt Cheesecake, it’s the Torched Butterscotch Iced Latte’s mild sweetness that makes it even better. In the case of the 17-layer Chocolate Cake, the Dairy-free Mocha is its continuation, in that it goes hand in hand with the cake’s richness.
The Pistachio Roulade is best paired with the Iced Madagascar Vanilla Latte, a laid-back combination, says Andre. “Something one can have over with friends, or while reading a good book,” he adds.
To try the pairings, visit Le Petit Soufflé in Mega Fashion Hall (2F) in SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City or in Century City Mall (3F) in Kalayaan Ave., Poblacion, Makati City.
