Oldest restaurant in the Metro!

Are you familiar with restaurant named Ambos Mundos? It ranked number 2 in the Spot.ph Top 10 Oldest restaurant in Manila.  Ambos Mundos means “both worlds”, a combination of the past and the present, the east and the west and the Philippines and Spain.

It was opened in 1888 by my sister-in-law’s family, the de leon and Gaudinezes.  Yes, you heard it right, this restaurant is owned by my sister-in-law’s family.  I will not elaborate on the history since there are some legal issues concerning the legal owner of the said restaurant. I will post about it some other time with my sister in law’s permission.
