We had our Oral Prophylaxis at DR. DS Dental Clinic Molino Cavite
The other day, we finally had the courage to go to the dentist to have our long delayed oral prophylaxis. This procedure is supposed to be done twice a year or every 6 months but due to pandemic, we were not able to do it. The covid virus can be transmitted via water droplets or saliva so going to the dentist this pandemic (especially 2 years ago) is really not an option unless it’s an emergency and really needed.
My mom and I had a tooth extraction last year in a dental clinic nearby and it went well naman. I was supposed to have our teeth cleaning in this clinic, but unfortunately they did not reply to my inquiry so I decided to look for another clinic nearby.
DR. DS Dental Clinic (Molino 4, Daang Hari)
I booked an appointment for my family and I can say that booking is easy breezy via their Facebook page. On our scheduled day, we arrived 30 minutes early, they let us in but asked us to wait for our scheduled time since it’s lunch time when we arrived, kain muna daw sila, and that’s okay with us. They have WIFI so we were not bored.
The clinic is equipped with a security system which helps them not to hire a guard anymore. They will give a foot cover at the entrance and will ask you to stay in a misting machine to be sanitize.
For first time client/s, you need to fill up a form and indicate personal details and medical history.
Oral Prophylaxis is a procedure to remove tartar and plaque build-up from the surfaces of the teeth as well as those hidden in between and under the gums.
My son was the first on the table (I meant dental chair hehe). The dentist told us that his teeth are fine but the gums are a bit swollen. After cleaning it, it should be back to normal. I was inside the operating room (operating room talaga hahaha), the whole time and watching the procedure. I also keeps on reminding Ren to open his mouth wide.
After him, I went next. The dentist checked my teeth first and told about my teeth’s condition to the assistant. It’s all gibberish to me so I asked what are those numbers and if there’s a major problem, pero wala naman daw. Ang yabang yabang ko magsabi kay Ren na open your mouth pero noong ako na lagi ako nasasabihan ng doctor to open my mouth hahaha. Grabe, I don’t know if nanibago ako ng bongga pero naluha talaga ako sa whole procedure. Nakakangilo ng ipin, masakit. After my teeth cleaning, I asked the dentist again if there’s a tooth/teeth that needs to have pasta but she said wala naman major butas, maaayos pa daw ng linis at toothbrushing. I just find it weird that I need to ask first before she tells me anything about my oral health. She did not even gave any advice or offered any dental procedure that I might be interested to avail. Perhaps I just don’t need one talaga… I don’t know.
Noel was the last one to have his teeth cleaning. But before his turn, I told the dentist that he is conscious with his teeth so it’s better not to recommend dentures or metal braces etc. ’cause he didn’t like to have one. After his teeth cleaning, he confessed to me that he felt pain too. Pareho kami LOL.
Our bill is different from each other, Ren was charged P1,000, mine is P1,200 and Noel is P1,800. The staff said that their oral prophylaxis procedure starts with P800. The charge depends on how dirty your teeth maybe.
I used GCASH payment, since my cash on hand is not enough to cover our bill. They also accept card payment.
Overall, I like the cleanliness of their clinic and that they follow safety protocols. The staff are friendly too. But honestly, it would be better if the dentist who handled us would explain the condition of our teeth, give recommendations (whether we will avail or not) and give suggestions or tips on what to do to make our teeth healthy. We just wanted to keeping our mouth healthy and our smile bright 🙂 a little chit chat will do without me asking first for it.
But nothing of this happened, I even needed to ask via chat when we arrived home kung ilang ipin yung need ipa-pasta ni Noel dahil sabi daw sa kanya may need ipa-pasta pero di nya alam saan banda at ilan.
Anyway, if you are interested to check them out, you may visit them at 2nd floor, Dunamis Christian Commercial Building, Daang Hari Road or check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/drdsmolino/

Panget pala jan. Pansin ko pag lalaki dentist walang pakelam msyado at di nag ga-guide sa mga patients what to do.
