Where to Buy Wagyu Beef Cubes in the Philippines?
My cousin that is working in Singapore went home the other day to have a 5 day vacation and to celebrate my aunt’s birthday at our province (Tarlac). Since we will go home to the province too, he asked his girlfriend to order Wagyu Beef Cubes and deliver it to our house to bring to Tarlac with us.
They gave us some of it to try. They told me to cook it in medium heat and just season it with salt and pepper. Since I still have some broccoli in the ref, I decided to just add some to balance the taste.
VIOLA!!! a perfect dinner for my family.
What is Wagyu?
Wagyu is a breed of cattle native and unique in Japan. Wa’ means Japanese and ‘gyu’ means cow. Wagyu were originally draft animals used in agriculture, and were selected for their physical endurance. This selection favored animals with more intra-muscular fat cells – ‘marbling’ – which provided a readily available energy source. Wagyu is a horned breed and the cattle are either black or red in color.
I don’t know where did they bought the one they gave me, but upon searching here are some of the online sellers I found:
AiWagyu – P1,250
Black Wagyu – P1,400 for 1 Kilo and P800 for half kilo
Lazada – P1,300

those are fake wagyu. real wagyu will cost 1.500 USD or 75 thousand pesos per kilo. If you are buying 1 slice of wagyu steak for less than 4K pesos, chances are its not wagyu.
