International British Academy Review
The first time I heard about International British Academy was when Ren, my son met some kids studying in this school at a summer camp 2 years ago. As much as I want to visit this place, I felt intimidated. That’s why I was so happy when I received an invite from them. They had an open school day wherein they invite parents and guests to visit them. I brought some mommy friends with me so that they too can see what this school has to offer.
We were warmly welcomed by Assistant Principal Ms. Bong who we found so accommodating. We actually love her, she’s the perfect hostess of this school.
The International British Academy (IBA) was founded as a school in November 2001, to provide a British education for English-speaking students of all nationalities from age three to seventeen. IBA is based in Imus Cavite, just besides District Mall Imus. Their academic program is based from both British and Singapore modules and now adding the local standard for K12 curriculum.
According to Ms.Bong, all their teachers are licensed. The school’s slogan is “IBA kami!!” and their goal is for their students to be well-rounded individuals and confident and responsible citizens.
We toured around the campus and saw some students while having their class. The Nursery students are located at the ground floor, elementary students at the second floor and the highschool students at the 3rd floor.
I asked if they accept kids with special needs and Ms.Bong said that as of now, they can’t cater for these kids yet. I appreciate the honestly but I hope they will consider mainstreaming soon.
Regarding bullying, they said that they treat bullying reports very seriously. They believe that students should feel secure in their school environment and, thus, they act immediately and appropriately on bullying concerns.
If you are curious about their tuition fees, you can check it here –iba.edu.ph/resources/school-fees
They have a plan to transfer at Salawag Cavite maybe 5 years from now, we had a glimpse on the plan for the new building and it looks bigger and better.
FACILITIES
IBA also offer homeschooling program, contact them to get more information about this.
Overall, we find the school secure and it looks like the kids are not that stressed and are happy. If you are looking for an international school you might want to check them out and see them for yourself.

hi po,, ,I saw this blog po… and I am planning of homeschooling my child, I think we will have more time to do other stuff because she is eager to learn other things aside from the corners of the classroom. IBA is one of the three homeschools I am eyeing. I hope you can share the experience. How was it po? My concern is the exam, I heard they just have one final exam. Is it true? no quartely exam? Hope you can enlighten me (thanks in advance)
Mommy Levy says
Hi Lala, they have quarterly exams. Pinapadala yun ng school sa email mo, then ikaw ang magpapa exam sa anak mo. Yes once a year lang sya mag iexam sa school. May club ang IBA na pwede nya attendan weekly (ito ang isa sa rason bat sila ang pinili ko).

Ahhh, thank you po sa info.
Need po bang ibalik sa kanila ung test paper na may sagot na for giving the grades? Or at the end of the sch year napo?
They dont assist 1st Communion daw po. How did you do yours po?
Thanks much
Mommy Levy says
may tinatawag silang portfolio, you need to put there every quizzes, exams and proof ng ginagawa nyo sa bahay. Don’t worry they will teach you and guide you all the way. May seminar pa nga bago ka mag-enroll. Regarding communion, yes they don’t assist kaya naghahanap pa ako ng church that will accomodate us.
