No Gifts, No Problem!
Last Christmas Eve, after we went to hear the evening mass Noel, Ren and I went to the convenient store nearby to eat some Korean Ice cream. I told Ren that we don’t have any gifts for him to open…. I thought that he will whine and protest but he said “it’s okay!”
Maybe what made it okay with him was because he already opened a lot of toys even before Christmas arrived and maybe he thought that he doesn’t need another one.
But he is a kid, and just like any other kids, he should be expecting gifts on Christmas Eve. Well, maybe that is why he is unique, he is not the usual kid, and Noel and I are thankful for that.
Ren doesn’t get everything that he wants, actually most of the time he don’t. If he likes a new toy, he needs to wait for his birthday or a special occasion. If he needs a new shoes that is because the old one is already really broken. We don’t spoil him like what other people think we do.
We are teaching him that there are things in life that he can’t get and he should be happy with what he has.
He received a gift from his Tita Ninang and one from his OT and he was very happy with it. I wish that until he gets old, not getting much will still be okay with him.

Gifts does’nt always come in a form of material things, most of the time it is given unconditionally everyday from the heart. It just shows that you have raised your kid very well mommy levy.
