Completing the Simbang Gabi fulfilled my wish!
Today, December 16 is the first day of Simbáng Gabi. Simbang Gabi is a devotional nine-day series of Masses practiced by Roman Catholics and Aglipayans in the Philippines in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in anticipation of Christmas (via: Wikipedia).
I have mentioned here before that my son Ren was the result when my husband and I wished for a child through completing the Simbang Gabi. God is really great because just a month after completing the Simbang Gabi, we found out that I am pregnant.
One of GMA 7’s research person have read my post and contacted me for an interview. I was thinking of saying no because I am not confident in talking to anybody I barely know and what made me more nervous is that it will be shown in public television. I was also approached before by another research team asking me for an interview, but I just ask other people to do it instead of me (read ABS-CBN interview HERE). But this time, since the topic is kinda personal and I want to be one of the living proof that completing the Simbang Gabi can fulfill your wish, I said yes to them.
The interview was done last December 6 here at our area at Cavite. The management of our Village knew about the interview because I’ve asked them if it was possible to do it at our clubhouse instead of our house, I am glad that they have agreed.
Four days after the interview, the Property Management of our village released a memo that we will be having our very first Simbang Gabi at our clubhouse. I don’t know if they have thought of that prior to the interview but I am so happy that now we (the homeowners) don’t need to go out of the village during dawn to attend Simbang Gabi.
It was a nice decision by the management because the homeowners would now feel safer in attending the Simbang Gabi, since it is within the neighborhood. Also I like that there are no noisy young adults chatting outside.
I don’t have a copy of the interview by GMA7 yet, but don’t worry, I will share it with you (if I find the strength to do so) 🙂
How about you, did you ever try completing the Simbang Gabi? Did you asked for something to the Lord? Did it come true? Share it with us.

I wanted to attend Simbang Gabi, however, my work schedule didn’t permit me to do so. 🙁
