McDonald’s Commercial entitled Kuya

Last Friday at my son’s therapy center (Skill Builder Manila), some mommies and yayas were talking about the latest commercial of McDonald’s which featured “Kuya” (a term in Filipino that means older brother) but in the commercial, the Kuya has a Down Syndrome.

There are lots of kids with Down Syndrome at my son’s therapy center and most of them are functional, intelligent,  adorable and very sweet.

I love that McDo features someone with special need (a Down Syndrome) in this case.  The TVC shows us that people with special needs should also be treated like a regular/normal human being just like anybody else.

I hope that all siblings are like them.  Kudos to McDonalds for this kind of TVC and I hope others will follow.
