I want a "Hunter" rain boots!
As of this writing, the Philippines is hit by a strong typhoon named Juan (international codename Megi). I went to the market early this morning to buy some food supplies since I am so afraid that the heavy rains and strong winds will not stop till tomorrow, and that there will be heavy floods in our area. Last Typhoon Ondoy, my family wasn’t prepared, that is why I am becoming paranoid every time there will be heavy rains. I borrowed my husband’s rain boots since I’m afraid that I might be trapped in a flooded street while going to the market. I also don’t want my feet to be wet by dirty water and of course to avoid leptospirosis.
While walking, I have realized why is it that rain boots in the Philippines are very out of fashion and why the manufacturers didn’t even bother to develop it. It always rains here and for sure fashionable boots will be a big hit in the market. Most rain boots that I usually see looks so manly, and yet even guys don’t want to wear it especially when they will go to the office. To prove that, just today I can’t convince my husband to wear it when he goes to work this morning despite of explaining to him that his pants and shoes might be soaked in the water. It looks like that it’s better to be wet than to wear the boots at all. So, if men don’t want it, what more for women?
It’s good to know that there are some sites that offer fashionable boots. They are sold at a higher price compared to the ones we usually see at the mall but it’s no doubt that you will love to wear it maybe even when it’s not raining at all. Check out this sit:e Bajaboots , they sell fashionable rain boots for P1,998 (introductory price until October 21, original price is P2,300). The regular boots’ cost is only P280 but it will be useless when you can’t wear it at all, so I think spending a little more is worth it in the long run.
From the different styles available, I prefer this particular boots since it is classy and you can match it with any clothes. It has a wedge that makes it more interesting.
