Wearing High Heels could be harmful?
Wearing high heels has always been my dream. Since I was a little girl I have tried on my mom’s high heeled shoes and I yearned for the day that I could finally wear those for myself. But don’t you know that wearing these can be harmful to you? Aside from the usual twisted ankles and painful blisters, Researchers link high heels to knee osteoarthritis, a painful, degenerative joint disease.
So what if you really really need to wear one? here are tips to minimize the effect on your body:
Your foot will swell throughout the day, so shop for shoes late in the day when your feet are at their biggest. You will also be more likely to opt for more comfortable shoes when your feet are already tired and a bit uncomfortable.
If you are unsure of your foot size, buy a half size bigger. Wearing too small shoes is the biggest footwear mistake women make and may be the reason why they account for most foot surgeries.
Feet widen and grow throughout life due to factors like age and pregnancy. Do not assume that you will always wear the same size. Have your feet measured at least once a year.
DON”T EVEN DARE TO THINK of wearing your super high-heels for the first time while planning to cover long distances or traveling by foot. Otherwise, you will never ever wear them again.
choose heels with the right instep
buy special invisible pads and put them in your shoes, thus, you will avoid calluses.
always carry in your bag specialized plasters and molefoam padding, thus, you’ll always relief your pain.
