5 Awkward Moments with my Mom
I look up to my mom because she is a fighter, a tough woman, down to earth, a faithful servant of the Lord and that she was able to raise all her 3 kids on her own.
If I will have to choose for another mom, I will still choose her even though there are some embarrassing or awkward moments that I will never forget that she had done.
Awkward Moment No. 1– When I was young,Β I learned to write a diary because of a commercial that I saw and I kept it in the cabinet that I thought my mom will not open because she has no time to clean it up, but I caught her one day reading it.Β It was embarrassing because I wrote all my secrets there including cheating in class and having a crush with one of my classmates.Β I was just in elementary at that time, so you know what I got after she saw it? Pingot sa tenga π hahaha
Awkward Moment No. 2 – When I was in high school and I needed to sleep over at my classmate’s house to finish a so called “project” and as early as 6 am, my mom was knocking on the door to check on me. Well, cellphone was not yet “in” at that time so can you blame me if I was not able to ask for her permission to sleep over hahaha. I was so embarrassed with my classmate’s parents because they thought that my mom knew about me sleeping at their house.
Awkward Moment No. 3 – When I was in College, I decided to get a sideline job as a crew in a restaurant.Β I am always scheduled in night shifts and one day my mom decided to fetch me at the store.Β She saw me cleaning the dining area and I was under the table with a mop and broom on both hands.Β When I saw her, she was laughing so hard.Β She mocked me because she knew that I don’t do that stuff at our house.
Awkward Moment No. 4 When we commuted and rode a jeep and she became friendly with the people around her.Β I can’t blame her for being proud of us for finishing school but before we go down, everybody already knew our story (from birth up to that day hahaha).Β I have realized that staring at her makes her talk more and more, so what I usually do is to just close my eyes and act like a sleepy head.
Awkward Moment No. 5 – When I finally introduced her to the parents of my then boyfriend (now husband), and they brought out a lot of food at the table including desserts.Β My mom kept on saying “wow this is delicious, I’ve never had this before” and she was not referring about the main dishes but on the ice cream on the table hahaha.
These are just a few of the awkward moments that I remember with my mom. I still love her inspite all these. She’s the kind of mom that will give everything she has for her kids no matter what. Her main priority is the education of her kids. She doesn’t have much and she always tell that “pag-aaral lang maipapamana ko sa inyo”. She’s a role model and I know I still need to prove a lot to be just a fraction of what she become.
As of now, she is at her hometown having her well deserved vacation.Β She will arrive on Mother’s day and to welcome her back, I’ll treat her to Jollibee. She’s a practical mom like me and she knows that we can eat more at Jollibee.
They currently have a promo for their Chicken Joy.Β Jollibee’s 1-piece Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti SOLO are now on sale for only P99 (original price is P117) and the 1-piece Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti Value MealΒ is now more affordable for P109 (original price is P122).

My mum a crazy woman. I grew up with all her funny antics. And favorite ng mga friends ko ang aking “Mila Stories” (mums name is Mila) and so I made a segment on the blog – Mila Stories. Napagod ako kakaulit eh. And guess what?! Super sikat nya sa mga friends ko. Binabalik balikan. Hahahaha! But I love her and is very proud to be her daughter. I hope I could do a good job with my daughter too.

I can relate to mom being ma-PR and talking to other people in public as if they’re close… But I guess I like that about her, because I can’t be like that, I’m a shy person, and people look up to her because she gives one of the best advice, minsan nga lang unsolicited, pero she’s caring that way… We all love our moms no matter how awkward our life gets with them around… π

We have different moms and different ways in which they molded us. But one thing in common for them, the love they shared with us. Happy Mothers Day!

Moms who act as leading role models in our lives are like angels gifted to us by God. I have that relatively the same awkward moment when my mom read my diary that I kept as a child. I remember one entry was about how I felt after our argument.
