REDD: Where Good Food and Great Place come together
Mommies need their well deserved time out from day to day activities too. Once in a while, we need to breathe and have a relaxing time with ourselves or with friends so that we’ll feel energized to serve our family once again.
I am lucky to have a lot of mommy friends that I call on when I’m feeling down or just needed someone to talk to (besides my ever supportive husband). We usually stay in one’s house, have a road trip somewhere or indulge to some girls’ drink in a nice cozy place.
Simple things like that helps us to be sane with our daily household/kids things.
Since Mother’s day is just around the corner, maybe you’re looking for a nice place to have a good time with your family or kumares/amigas without hurting your budget.
Today I’m going to suggest a new place that I’m sure you’ll love.
REDD: EAT, DRINK, CHILL RESTAURANT
This restaurant is located at Prism Plaza, 4th Level, Two E-Com Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
Prism Plaza is just a few steps away from the north wing of SM Mall of Asia. Here you’ll be able to see a perfect view of the sunset at Manila bay and MOA’s fireworks at night. There are also live bands performing at night.
Here at REDD, they also have their own KTV room, a perfect area for those who want to sing their hearts out.
For those who want a different twist on their entertainment, REDD offers a beer pong table too.
Here are some of the dishes from their menu that was served to us.
This is my first time to try this dish. I keep on calling it Sinanglaw, Siglaw…. until my foody friend Peachy corrected me and said it’s Sinuglaw. It is a mixture of Grilled Pork Belly that is cut into small pieces and fresh Tuna with vinegar and vegetables. It is tangy yet savory. It can be an appetizer or with rice.
This is called Juana Fries. It is real potato cooked to perfection making it crunchy. It is served with cheese, ground pork with tomatoes and onion on the side. I’m sure my son will love this when he tries it.
Sisig Ala Kanto is one of the dishes I feel in love here. Sisig is an ultimate pulutan companion for beer, but some like to eat it with rice too (just like what I did). There are a lot of varieties of sisig, some have mayonnaise and egg while this one don’t have it. I learned that this is the classic kind of sisig with just minced meat and served on a sizzling platter with chili, liver, onion and seasoned with calamansi.
This lumpia pulled pork is also a hit. It is crunchy and flavorful.
We had 2 kinds of flavored rice: Rice with Bagoong and Tinapa Rice.
I like the Tinapa rice, kahit walang ulam malasa na 🙂
I have chosen this mango melon for my drink. With this hot weather, this drink is so refreshing.
Then the main course, arrived. I never had this many dishes in my life.
This is REDD’s version of pork and chicken adobo. The chicken is grilled while the pork is also cooked separately. I like the taste of the sauce, it is creamy and tangy.
I also like this Pork Binagoonan. The pork has crunchy skin and juicy meat. I just hope there’s more grilled eggplant on the side (I love eggplant kasi haha).
This roasted chicken pochero is one of the owner’s favorite dish. But unfortunately, I am not into chorizos so this dish is not a hit for my taste bud.
I think this is also the first time I tried kansi. It’s like nilaga with a sour taste like sinigang. I love the soup, perfect for a rainy weather. Instead of pork or beef, REDD used grilled chicken for this dish.
Crispy Pata is men’s fave pulutan and ulam. REDD provides 4 different kinds of sauce to their version of crispy pata. I tried it with the chili garlic sauce. It is crispy and tender. Balikbayans will enjoy this.
REDD’s Trio Kare-Kare has pork, beef and chicken on it and of course bagoong on the side. Since I had so many pork and chicken already, I tried the corned beef. It is good for 2-3 persons, perfect for my family.
Then this beef calderata arrived, gosh I can’t breath anymore haha. But I want to know what it tastes like so I had one piece and tried it. Caldereta is a popular dish served during special occasions. The beef is tender and tasty. This is the first time I saw olives added to caldereta.
Lastly, a vegetable dish was served. It is called gising-gising. They’ve used sigarilyas with tofu that is cut into tiny bits making it crunchy. If you want something light, then this dish is highly recommended.
Of course, I reserved a place in my tummy for dessert. They served this Turon Overload. The usual turon has banana (and sometimes langka) on it, but REDD’s version also has sago and cinnamon. I love anything with cinnamon on it. I think I got 5 pieces of this one. I can say that I can eat this whole serving all by myself. The dulce de leche dip also compliments the taste and the ice cream, OMG I love it! I need to find out where they get that ice cream haha
After a sumptuous meal, we ended the night with a shot of these drinks. My mommy friends will love this.
Sunset by the bay, Mojito de Guimaras, and Coco Martini are just few of their alcoholic beverages.
I will definitely go back here and bring my family. I can’t wait to try that KTV with my friends too.
Thank you so much REDD!

It’s hard for full time mommies to take time and treat themselves. This is a good read.
