Earn college credits and save money through Study.com
Study.com, according to their site, is a one-stop shop for students researching schools or careers, or simply wanting to try out online education. It is an online platform that makes education affordable, effective and engaging with short, fun video lessons created by their qualified instructors on board. They have over 30 million students a month using their online courses and study tools to master any subject. They help K-12 and college students excel academically and professionals gain the skills that the students would need in the workplace in the future. Study.com also offers more than 100 courses recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education(ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS).
Recently, they launched a new feature, the comprehensive credit-by-exam preparation products. These include comprehensive study guides and practice tests to help students prepare for these exams, earn college credits, and save money on their education.
But some people may not be familiar with this and ask, what is credit-by-exam? A Credit-By-Exam(CBE) is a program that allows college students to earn credits thru knowledge that they already have. For students who feel that they have sufficient comprehension and understanding of certain subjects, they can qualify for exemption from that specific course or subject by taking validation exams and tests and passing a specified grade requirement. By taking CBE program, college students can save up on time and money spent on taking courses or subjects that they feel they are already knowledgeable. They can invest more time, money and other resources in taking other subjects that they need to master more. This can be a great help as well to those who are homeschooling.
Two popular options for credit-by-exam are the College Level ExaminationProgram (CLEP) and Dantes Subject Standardized Test (DSST). These exams both aim to help the students to skip over courses that cover basic or familiar information. To better prepare for these exams, Study.com offers different programs for different courses. Since there is no specific class to prepare or review you for these exams, you will be in charge of studying by yourself and researching for related materials and books.
Study.com can help you with this overwhelming task by providing readily available modules. You can easily choose the course you want to focus on, since they offer courses on Science, Math, Business, Psychology, History, English, Social Science, Humanities, Spanish, and Professional Development. Upon choosing a specific course, you will be directed to the page showing the overview, the syllabus and practice tests. The course summary is indicated as well, you will also be able to see how many lessons are available for that course. Each lesson has a corresponding video tutorial, which usually lasts for about 10 minutes, more or less. The video lesson also has a transcribed lesson text below for any information you may have missed out, or if you prefer to read by yourself and not watch the video. After each lesson, there’s an accompanying practice exam to check if you have understood the lesson well. There are about five questions per exam in each lesson. After completing the lessons in each chapter, there’s a placement test, where you will be given 30 questions to answer. You have to meet a specific grade requirement after completing the tests (or 70% as indicated in their grading policy).
You can retake the chapter quiz (college-level courses) for about three times, giving you a chance to redeem your low score. For the proctored final exam, you can only retake the exam after three days and you can only take it twice. But take note that the CLEP and DSST courses are not subject to these requirements.
Study.com’programs are very accessible, easy to understand and save you much time, energy and effort searching for review materials. You can also review at your own pace and at your own time, without having the need for travel, and at the comfort of any place, such as your home, school, office, etc.

This is great. Do these Credit-By-Exam(CBE) programs on Study(dot)com work for Masters Degree programs? I ask because I would love to get an MBA or perhaps some sort of masters in marketing but as a working adult Masters programs can be sort of time consuming.
