Why Every Household needs a Nebulizer
We already have a nebulizer even before Ren was born. My mother in law was using it when she was alive because she sometimes has difficulty in breathing. That old nebulizer was passed from one grandchildren to another (poor thing haha).
The first time Ren used it was when he was having a terrible cough and his pediatrician advised us to use a nebulizer on him to loosen the phlegm. You know what? a one time use of a nebulizer in the Pedia’s clinic cost a hundred bucks, imagine how much it will cost you if you will depend on it until you get well. Sometimes she will ask us to do it twice or thrice a day (P300 na yun per day sa pedia).
Yes, the nebulizer is not only for asthmatic individuals. When Ren was diagnosed with Pneumonia, the doctor did not advise us to go to the hospital immediately. We did not sleep overnight at that time, my husband, my mom and I took turns to observe and take care of my son and we just used a nebulizer on Ren (disclaimer: I don’t suggest that you do the same, it’s better for you to consult your pediatrician first).
Nebulizer was very helpful to us. I’m so thankful that my mother in law has one.
But the only problem I experienced with our old nebulizer was it was huge, hard to clean and very noisy. My son always cries whenever I turned it on because he hates loud noises at that time.
That’s why when I received an invite to attend a nebulizer event by Omron, I didn’t hesitate to say yes because I am curious about their product and how the new nebulizers have evolved over the years.
The event was led by Pediatrician and Asthma and Lung Specialist Dr. Anjanette O. Reyes-De Leon, M.D. She shared valuable information about respiratory problems, management and cure.
Omron Healthcare introduced to us the CompAir Nebulizer System NE-C801. It’s compact and lightweight making it easy to bring along especially if you are travelling.
It was developed for the efficient management of asthma, chronic bronchitis, allergies and other respiratory disorders. This Omron nebulizer kit uses Virtual Valve Technology which provides highly efficient nebulization with reduced medication wastage. The compressor forces air to the nebulizer kit.
They said that the unit comes with an adult PVC mask, a child PVC mask, and a mouthpiece.
Some people might think that nebulizers are expensive. Surprise! Surprise! this model only costs P3,280 and if you purchase a unit by the end of October 2017, you get to take P300 off the SRP, so you’ll get it around P2,900 na lang!
The Omron NE-C801 is available for P3,280 (less P300 till end of October) at major drugstores like Mercury Drug and Watsons.

I agree that a nebolizer is not only for asthmatic individuals. I actually like the Omron brand as I do have their thermometer. Wow! For the price off, parents should know this! Sayang, I already have a nebolizer at home pero I like this brand talaga.

I keep one at home because my child is asthmatic. Having the nebulizer at home keeps me at peace.

I didn’t know about the virtues of having a nebulizer until my son had to use it this year. He wasn’t immediately diagnosed with asthma, but nebulization helped him a lot. When he had another attack just recently, we invested na in our own nebulizer. Of course, it should be Omron!

It will really be a wise investment to have a reliable nebulizer at home. As I’ve learned from the event, allergies can develop into asthma which is a lifetime condition, and we want to avoid that.

The main reason we have one at home is because of convenience. Ayoko pumila sa clinic at maghintay ng matagal bitbit lahat ng anak ko. OA sa hassle yun. This is a must have.

We don’t have nebulizer since we don’t have asthma in the family. But when my son was a baby, meron pinabili sa min yung doctor, can’t remember yung name pero we used it pag may colds anak ko at nahirapan huminga.

This is a must have even for a family without asthma problems. We have a nebulizer here handed down by my in-laws. We use it when my son has stuffy nose and can’t breathe, but it’s so bulky and heavy and noisy. I heard this one’s not maingay and very compact too. Perfect for travel pa.

My MIL has an asthma, she used to have a nebulizer pero now nag didisc na sya. Sadly when my eldest was still a baby, madalas din sya mag nebu kasi laging may ubo. Good thing my bunso hindi masyado pero we bought a nebu pa rin para pag emergency may magagamit.
