5 Advantages of Blood Donation Plus a Sneak Peek on my First Try
I once had a friend who had a father was suffering from Leukemia, she called out for blood donations because they need it badly. As much as I want to help I was rejected because of my low hemoglobin and blood pressure. I want to donate blood because I heard that Red Cross will give you a card and will make you a priority in case you need it plus the card is transferable. You know how many people need blood everyday? I can say a lot.
Last Thursday at my son’s school, they hosted a blood donation drive. I was hesitant to sign up at first because I’m afraid I’ll be rejected. The school Principal convinced me together with other parents there, she said that there’s no harm in asking if we’re qualified or not.
I was not prepared to do it that day but everything went smoothly.
I filled up a form first then I was interviewed. Then my weight, blood pressure, heart beat and lungs sound were checked too.
I was surprised to pass the test despite having low blood pressure and being 20kg overweight (sigh). I’ve been wanting to donate blood and I’m thankful that I was able to do it.
There are a lot of advantages in donating blood besides the feeling of fulfillment of being able to help other people.
