5 Tips when Travelling with Family
I love reading travel magazines and blogs. They give me a glimpse on what to see, expect and prepare when the time comes that I decide to visit those places. Travelling is fun, exciting and at the same time stressful if you are not well prepared. Backpacking solo is not the same with travelling with kids, the latter needs more planning. Unless your wallet is full and don’t need to make a budget plan then going to a road trip is okay.
Travelling is rewarding, you get to meet new people, experience their culture and learn from it. Your kids will also personally experience, feel and observe the things they only see in books. If I have to choose between a new gadget versus a day or two to explore a new place, I’ll choose the latter. The memories and wonderful experience that you will have, will stay in your mind longer.
But before you jump up and book your family tickets, I’ll be sharing with you some of the things I learned when travelling.
5 Things You Need to Do Before Any Trip
Bring Copies of your Passport– this advise came from a friend who frequently travel abroad. She said that I should take a picture of our passports so that when I lose it I still have something to show to be able to go back home. Leaving a copy to your family back home is also advisable.
Book Tickets Early – I booked our trip to Singapore 7 months in advance. I waited for promo seats to be available, and I was able to save a lot of money for doing so.
Book Your Hotel – In the immigration, they will ask you where are you going to stay. If you don’t have a friend or relatives leaving in that area, booking a hotel in advance is necessary. If you travel local, not booking a hotel is fine unless it’s a peak season but if you have your kids with you, you need to make sure you have somewhere to go when in other country.
One of the sites I discovered recently was Traveloka.
They offer the most competitive price for flights and hotels in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. No hidden charges. What you see is what you pay. The site is easy to navigate too.
Luggage – A friend offered her luggage to me, she said that I can borrow it. But someone also told me that having your own luggage is a good investment. I choose to listen to the latter. I bought a new luggage. It is also advisable to organize your stuff inside the luggage, don’t just throw everything there. These organizers I got from a supermarket promo saved my day. I was able to separate my husband’s, my son’s and my things properly.
Bring Medicine – some countries do not provide over the counter medicines for headaches, fever or flu. It is better to bring some of it to avoid visiting the hospital just to get a medicine for headache or bodyache. Doing this will save you time and money. Make sure you also pack mosquito repellent, alcohol and wipes for your kiddos.
I wish to visit more places soon with my family.
How about you? What are the tips that you can share about travelling with your family?

Actually this is a good idea. Do it in our own way. Usually we people wanting to travel to a package deal without thinking this is really expensive while comparing to book our own hotel, buying and paying our own stuff would be affordable and save money.
