5 things that kids should not do when on a public pool
Ang init!!!! That is what I usually hear from people nowadays.
It’s a good thing that we have a pool at our clubhouse where people can dip and temporarily cool off their bodies. Unfortunately, as much as I want to stay on the pool, there are a lot of things happening around that make my eyes sore.
Before you start reading on, let me warn you that these things are disgusting, if you haven’t eaten yet then just come back later before you lose your appetite (kasalanan ko pa hahaha)
5 things that kids should not do when on a public pool
- Eating on the pool– Imagine this, a child is happily chatting with friends while she is eating cheese flavored chips and half of her body is in the water of the pool. When she is done with the bag of chips she just dipped her fingers on the pool and viola parang walang nangyari. It’s a kid and it’s okay to eat you may say, but please, not on the pool.
- Peeing on the pool– I have read an article that peeing in the pool creates chemicals harmful to human health, including one that can be used as a chemical weapon (scary and yucky isn’t it?). Of course, we will not know exactly who peed or not unless the kid admittedly said so himself.
- Spitting on the pool- I know it is not avoidable that the pool water will touch your mouth, but please do not spit on the pool. I don’t even need to elaborate on that.
- Not taking a shower before dipping on the pool
- Bringing of toys if the kids don’t know how to share- if it’s a public pool then it is not avoidable that other kids will touch whatever toys you put in the pool. If your kids don’t know how to share (yet) it is better not to let them bring their toys to avoid misunderstandings with other kids who also don’t know how to ask permission.
Kids are teachable, it is our duty as parents to teach them the proper things to do. If my son can follow the things mentioned above, I know your kids can do it too. Let us just patiently and constantly remind them because just like us, they are also forgetful sometimes.
I know the things mentioned here are unavoidable. So, maybe I will just let Ren dip on his own pool just like what his cousins did when they were still the same age as him.
