Be wary of FAKE great deals that might trick you!
Last December, Noel was looking for an affordable and great value for money LCD Monitor. We were on a tight budget so at first I disagreed to purchase any new gadgets or appliances, but then I realized that a new LCD monitor is a necessity and not a splurge after all. Besides, it is more convenient to work in a more spacious table, and he also assured me that if he had a new LCD Monitor he can work better, and can pay for the bills easily.
So, after all the discussions, we decided to buy a new LCD Monitor. He preferred a cheaper brand, but since I know Samsung for being the Worlds No.1 in LCD TV, I know that they can be trusted in LCD Monitors as well, so we agreed to buy a Samsung 20″ monitor (model: P2050). Another thing that attracted me to purchase that brand was because of their current promo; wherein you will have a FREE Samsung cell phone (E1080) for every purchase of selected LCD Monitors. I was so happy that I’ve got 2 items for a price of Php9, 390 only.
Not until I discovered that I have been fooled. After Christmas, I went to Abenson at Robinson’s Ermita, I was there for the usual window shopping when I saw the same brand and model of the LCD Monitor that we’ve purchased. Out of curiosity, I asked the sales personnel for the price of the item, and to my surprise and disappointment I found out that it is a thousand pesos cheaper than the one I’ve just purchased. I then asked if it includes a FREE cell phone and he said “No!”. Well, it’s a good thing that it’s not.
I found this site, which indicates that the price of the monitor (w/out the FREE cell phone) was around Php8, 250 to Php 8,650 only
While, this site indicates that the price of the monitor is Php 9,498, and oh! can you see the promotion.. It has a FREE cell phone.
I found out that the value of the FREE cell phone was Php 1,450, so meaning, the promo is absolutely a Marketing Strategy of Samsung ONLY. In reality I did not received any FREE item, because the FREE unit is included in the price of the monitor.

Aww, super conscious kami sa mga promos na ganyan. Kaya pag may free and we really want the item we just condition ourselves na kasama na sa binayaran ung free lalo na pag mga appliance stores sa mall.

Hi Dee, may nakita pa nga ako buy1take1 din na Samsung E1080. Ang price ng isang E1080 as I’ve said was around P1,450 and guess what ang price ng buy1take1 ay… (drumroll) P2,900!!!
so, hindi sya buy1take1 diba? damn..

absolutely a marketing strategy. i once fooled by that spam promos and promised myself that it won’t happen to me again. canvassing on malls or browsing the net is a must before we buy anything especially appliances.
Very disappointing indeed! Why not send a letter or forward the link to this blog item to Samsung customer service? They might offer you a rebate to match the price in the other store.
