I have a wonderful sister
I don’t actually write much about my family here, because I don’t want to be so emotional, but still I want you to know who are the people around me. I already made a post about my mother, my parents in law, my husband, my son and now I want to write something about my sister.
She had just recently read the story I wrote about my mom, and I think she also wants me write something about her. Don’t worry Eyen, I won’t tell any bad things about you because I can’t actually remember any. π
When I was still living in our place in Alabang and not married yet, my sister and I shared one bed. We don’t have any individual rooms at our house because it’s too small so we have no choice but to share beds with each other. We usually talk with each other before going to sleep, maybe that’s why we grew fond of each other. We usually share funny situations that happened during the day. I donβt know why, but we really are not used in telling sad things and problems with each other. Although we grow up poor I think we are one of those children who are very lucky to have a wonderful family (‘though it’s not perfect).
I can say that I am luckier than any of my siblings because I studied in a private school (during high school and college), compared to them. Eyen, as the youngest struggled to have a good education, she had to wait in line (which in fact was very very long) in P.U.P. so that she can take the exam. She was really pressured while taking that exam because she needs to pass that because we really can’t afford to support her in college if ever she’ll have go in private school. I did not experienced this pressure because I have an educational plan, that’s why I can choose the school I wanted to go.
My sister and I are really different; she is the thrifty one while I am the money waster. I married early that’s why I don’t have the chance to spoil her with anything. But, the good thing was, before I got married I already renovated, fixed our house and I had bought some appliances. She also inherited all my stuff (bag, blouse, shoes etc.), so it’s also nice to be a spender. π
When she graduated and already had a job in her own, she always treats me and my family to a dinner or lunch whenever she comes over during the weekends. She always lend me some money if she feels I needed it badly, I don’t even have to ask her. She also doesnβt ask me to return it, but of course I know my obligation. I am teary eyed while writing this, because I just realized how lucky I am to have a very nice little sister. I am the eldest in the family but I think I am the one who is immature. When I am annoyed with someone she is always there to calm me. She is like my almost-always-there little conscience.
I am not used to say something sweet to her directly, because we always just ending up teasing each other. If only she knows how proud I am to be her sister. I may not have said it to her directly, but my friends, classmates and office mates knew it. I always tell them how smart and wonderful she is. Maybe now, she will know because she will certainly read this post.
what ever happens in life we should always remember to live life to the fullest
