CHISUN STANDARD Osaka Shin-Imamiya Hotel Overview
On our last day at Japan, I booked a hotel in Shin-Imamiya Osaka. From Kyoto we travelled both via bus and train going here and it took us an hour to arrive at the hotel. I like the hotel’s lobby it is spacious, ceiling is high, has a minimalist design and has a welcoming atmosphere.
We payed at the reception area with cash which I forgot (I thought I already paid for it with my card), it’s a good thing that I still have available cash on hand. We arrived earlier than the check in time but we were glad they let us stay in our room already because my son was not feeling well. The room was not that great compared to our first hotel which was a lot bigger but boy! I love that we can control the room’s temperature. This was one of the reasons why I was able to sleep well here compared to the other hotels we’ve been.
After checking in, I decided to go out to buy some foods. I liked that the hotel was near a supermarket, a convenience store and a store where I bought some takoyaki and yakisoba.
After resting for a few hours, my son felt fine and decided to go to Dotonbori. The JR train station line was near the hotel and instead of walking, we just rode to Namba station (just 1 station).
The next day, my son is still not feeling well so we decided to cancel our itinerary and just stay at the hotel for a while. Around 7am I went out to buy some breakfast at the convenience store. The hotel offers free coffee at the restaurant in the 2nd floor, so I just took some from there. They also offer breakfast at the hotel, but we did not avail it which I thought was fine since my son preferred to lie down and sleep more.
After eating our breakfast, I went out again to buy some “pasalubongs” at the nearby Mega Don Quijote (I’m glad to know there’s one nearby that was just a walking distance). It also visited the Tsutenkaku tower (I regret not going at night ’cause I think it’s more beautiful when the lights are on).
Our check out time was supposed to be at 10am, but I decided to extend it until my son felt fine. It’s a good thing that our flight was scheduled at 8pm.
The rate per hour after check out time is 1100 Yen, we stayed for additional 2 hours and then went out to eat our lunch. We returned after lunch and just stayed for a while on their comfy chairs in the lobby area.
We decided to go to the airport around 2PM and just stayed there. I so love that there is a direct line from the station near our hotel to the airport (no need to transfer) which is a plus factor if you have a lot of luggage to carry.
Overall, if given a chance to go back to Japan, I would still consider to book here. I just hope that the area nearby (which has some old items and looks like trash) will be cleared since it’s an eye sore and feels weird knowing that Japan hates trash and rubbish on the street.
