What an Extravagant Birthday Party looks like
When I posted about Ren’s Simple 7th Birthday party here, I received some comments and email asking me how much did I actually spend for his birthday, how much do I charge for the Bento packed lunch and what does an extravagant party for me looks like because for them Ren’s party looks like extravagant already.
The last inquiry was “tagos sa puso”, which made me reflect that maybe my simple 7th birthday party is not that “simple” to others.
That is why I came up with this idea on what do I think an extravagant 7th birthday party looks like (which is actually what I was planning to do if only there were some extra moolah to spend). My favorite website to check for birthday party ideas is Pinterest and Party Doll Manila
- INVITATION– For some, a paper invite is more formal than sending it to your guests via email or phone. A well crafted invite ranges from P50 per piece and up. Let’s say you have 100 guests with 2 guests per invitation, that is equivalent to P2,500
- VENUE– A nice venue for a 7th birthday party would be a play area or a resort with pool or a garden. A venue with play area like Fun Ranch is a hit because kids can play at the area after the party. The venue with a pool or a huge garden looks nice in taking pictures (ang sosyal ng dating). Plus visitors may opt to swim or enjoy taking photos around the place after the party. Our clubhouse with pool that can accommodate 200 guests charges P7,000 for the venue. Some charges higher.
- CATERER- Some venues have their own caterer and usually they just offer the area for free to use. But if you will get the caterer aside from the venue, prepare to spend for a minimum of P300.00 per head. If you have 100 guests that would be P30,000.00
- PARTY HOST– Unless you can do this, or you have a friend who can host your party for free then you will save from this category. If not, then prepare to pay for P5,000 and up for a party host.
- MAGICIAN or CLOWN– Magicians are expected for kiddie party. Their service ranges from P5,000 and up. Instead of getting the party host separately, some just choose to get a magician which can also act like the party host.
- CAKE– Most of the cakes in birthday parties nowadays are personalized. It is more expensive than buying a cake from famous cake stores. A single layer fondant cake ranges from P2,000 to P5,000 and up depending on the design you want to include on the cake.
- BACKDROP and BALLOON SET-UP – This will make the location and party venue more eye catching and picture perfect. This kind of service may range from P15,000 and up.
- CANDY BUFFET– these will help the kids busy while waiting for the party to start. The price depends on the number of persons. The cheapest I saw was P2,000.oo for 5opax
- PRIZES FOR THE GAMES
- GIVEAWAYS– Of course, a party would be incomplete if you will not give away something to your guest hoping they would remember your party afterwards 🙂 Giveaways ranges from P50 and up
- PHOTO BOOTH– Photo booths are less expensive now unlike before. You can get one for P2,500 that is good for 2 hours of their service.
add-ons:
- FACE PAINT – P2,000
- BUBBLE SHOW – P 3,000
- COSPLAYER /MASCOT – P4,000
- BALLOON TWISTER – P 2,500
- FOOD CART- P2,000 and up (per cart)
- INFLATABLE – P4,000 and up (depends on the size and type)
and the list goes on and on and on……
When I checked the expenses I will spend for this kind of extravagant party I come up to at least 70,000 to 100,000 (kakaloka!!!) .
Of course, I know that a fast food birthday party is less expensive than the one I listed above pero you can’t customized kasi kapag sa kanila. You need to choose only from the list of characters they offer.
For Ren’s 7th Birthday Party, I have spent a total of P12,000 (that is for 4 birthday celebration in different locations).
If you are capable to spend 6 digits for you kids birthday party there is nothing wrong with it. That is as long as you know that you can put the same (or higher) amount to your kids savings account in the future.

Hi!
Thanks for sharing these ideas. I’m actually planning for my 1st baby 1st birthday just 2 months from now so I’m freaking out coz’ til now we haven’t decided yet where will be the perfect venue is. This is our 1st baby and it’s his 1st bday that’s hwy we don’t want to celebrate it in Jollibee or Mcdo, at least a not so common party venue but a reasonable price. I’m a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse those characters are so cute at hindi nawawala sa era. Yung sana ang gusto kong theme nya wala nman ganyan sa mga fast foods. so dapat tlga cutomized, my friend celebrated her 1st bday of her 1st baby boy Sesame Street ang theme nagastos dw nya mga 200k waaaahhh pangkasal na ata un ah…kmi ngcompute mukang aabutin ng 100k haay kaloka! Gusto sana namin sa mga clubhouses lang kaso most of those need an sponsor.
Ayaw nman nmin ng Fun Ranch kasi 1st bday plang hnd pa sya mkakapag enjoy dun. Pasuggest nman po other party venues.
Thanks!

Just as what the saying goes, “It’s the thought that counts.”, so I think it is not a matter of how simple or how extravagant the celebration would be, as long as the intention of making our child happy on his or her special day is there, everything will be perfect. 🙂

I showed this to hubby and he said we will migrate nalang daw somewhere we have no family a few months before our daughter’s 7th. Para no one can attend and we will have little to no friends pa in the new place. Super laki kasi ng family nila and our small party turns into a huge one lagi just because dami guest who “volunteers” to attend. Can’t complain naman coz we love all of them. 😉

I remember spending 80k for my daughter’s first birthday then feeling extra guilty after kasi ang laki nga. Isang tuition na niya yun ngayon. Haha! We learned our lesson, so come our boy’s 1st birthday party, we just had a simple celebration at Max’s with family and close friends. I learned that it’s equally fun and special regardless of how much you spend on a party. The important thing is you’re with people you love.

We spent 5 digits on Ethan’s first birthday. Some find it expensive but I have no regrets, really. Everyone had a good time. On his 7th birthday I guess he’ll be old enough to decide if he wants a party or a family trip. I’d prefer the latter! Parties are so expensive nowadays and are not easy to organize, and the rates will keep going up!

Throwing a good party outside is really expensive. We spent almost P90,000 for our Audric’s christening including our clothes, prizes, etc ( http://www.audricsmomblog.com/2014/07/my-baby-audrics-christening-party.html ). Yes, it’s true. Puwede namang magcelebrate ng bongga as long as na may makakain pa tayo kinabukasan. 🙂

If I could afford it I would definitely splurge for my daughter’s 7th birthday party but I want a celebration that would mean a lot to my daughter. I let her pick who we will invite and I let her pick our theme.

That’s extravagant for me, too! I can’t spend nga 5 digits, 6 digits pa kaya hehe. I’m a very practical person, so instead of spending on something on a party, I’d rather spend on a trip. 🙂

I agree with your list here, throwing birthday party is not cheap nowadays. I love small and intimate party too kaya I prefer sa school kasi classmates lang ng anak ko papakainin ko, kaso sa new school ng anak ko, no birthday parties allowed. 🙁

funny that kid’s birthday parties are now almost the same price as a wedding. 30k tops is all i can go for. i spent about 25k for my son’s birthday but i actually didn’t mind since i didn’t have the time for a DIY party (even if i really wanted to).. i guess spending 50k above is already too much (and i know my family do think that i spent too much for my son’s birthday too) but i agree, if one can afford it, why not 🙂

Thank you for sharing, Mommy Levy! I like what you said towards the last part. I believe it’s really important to be able to save for our kid’s future and not spend so much on a one-day event. There’s nothing wrong though with a simple birthday celebration. 🙂

70k is too much for a birthday party for us. I think one can have a “bongga” party without breaking the bank, you just need to DIY a lot and look for the least expensive supplier/caterer. I spent around 12k for a cotillion for my daughter’s first birthday and that was a bout 2 months preparation. Sulit because I managed to pull it off na di nag over sa budget! 🙂 The next time I will spend that much is when they both turn 18. Hahaha!

I’m not sure I’ll ever organise such a huge event. We’ve been invited to many of those and gosh, kailangan may organiser na…hindi kakayanin ng powers ko.
I’ve been to a couple of not-so-extravagant fun ranch celebrations, that one, I can do. 🙂
Of Coffee and Crackers says
oh.. you didn’t include photo+video services!? hahaha we charged 7-10K for that! 🙂 hahaha
Magastos talaga pag big events! Specially when it’s you kid’s 7th bday! 🙂

AY oo nga, thank you for informing me about that.
