Balik Bukid at Sta Elena Golf and Country Estate: A country fair like no other
Yesterday, my son and I decided to come with my in-laws to the Balik Bukid festival at the Fun Farm of Sta. Elena Golf and Country Estate.
Upon entering Sta.Elena, I noticed that this is not any ordinary place. The place is huge, the main gates of the village are classy, and there are lots of open spaces that the residents can enjoy. I think you can’t visit the place without a private transportation because it is an exclusive place.
BALIK BUKID is a Country Fair organized by Gippy and Hindy Tantoco.
The Entrance to the place is free, but if you want to try some of the activities, you need to pay P350 for it.
The event started as early as 8am, and when we arrived there, they are already lots of people at the location.
My son first tried the Sand House. He got his hands and feet dirty in this place, but I know that’s good for him so I let him do what he wants.
after getting dirty, it’s a good thing that there are lots of washing areas at the place.
There are also a horse and carabao riding activities.
and then the kids and also the kids at heart (hahaha) had fun at these activities that according to my son is “SURVIVOR”.
After that, here comes the animal feeding and meeting the huge “RATS” that is what my son identified the black pigs hahaha
The event was hosted by Lexi Schulze
The Balik Bukid also became a shopping destination. There were lots of cool items that are eco-friendly, organic and unique in the place, here are some of them.
There were also lots of food stalls, which I forgot to take pictures because I was overwhelmed with them.
The highlight of our trip for me, was when I let my son do the zipline activities. I am excited and at the same time nervous to let him try it. But when I saw the smile and happiness on his face I knew I made the right decision to let him experience what it feels like.
The Balik Bukid Country Fair happens twice a year. We didn’t stayed long to watch the performance of UP Dharma or watch the Mud dash race.
I also wanted to try some of the delicacies there like the organic burger which I think my husband will enjoy, the Holy Carabao’s refreshment, the Ilocos Empanada, and the organic Lechon which I think didn’t able to arrive because their stall is vacant.
Through this event, I really felt that living in a rural area that’s consist of green and spacious surrounding is the best place for kids to grow.

My family and I really enjoyed that wonderful, exciting, and fun-filled day. It was really worth the trip as well as worthy enough to endure the very hot summer day. We all agreed to return next time the Balik Bukid Fair happens again!.
