Berrien Springs Academy Overview
Today, I’m going to review another school from Molino Cavite. I heard a good feedback on this school from a fellow mom, which got me curious so I visited them the other day.
Berrien Springs Academy is a school located at B16 L19 Fushia St. North Springville Camella Molino 3. It’s a small school beside a residential area.
Based on their brochure, their concept and curriculum are patterned from an Internationally known school in Japan. They offer personalized teaching. They also claim that they have well ventilated and spacious classrooms, modern facilities and a wide range of activities that will enhance the multiple intelligence of each child PLUS a chance to travel abroad.
They offer Pre-school, Elementary, Tutorials and Mainstreaming.
They have a limit though of 1 mainstream kid per class only.
MY OBSERVATION:
When I arrived at the area, a garbage truck was at their gate. Some students are outside carrying trash bins, I have noticed that they don’t have guards instead the admin was the one assisting them. I waited for a few minutes to be entertained because all the teachers are in their respective classes and she’s the only one available to assist the kids.
While waiting for her, I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the place.
the stairs to the 2nd floor.
According to my mommy friend, what she likes about this school besides the small class ratio is that the kids are disciplined and friendly to her daughter (they are transferees here). I have noticed that too with the few minutes that I was there. The kids blessed to me and greeted me when they saw me.
Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the rooms on the 2nd floor because they are having an exam.
I asked if kids under the mainstream program do the same activities with the neurotypical kids and they said yes! They are included in all the activities lined for the whole school year.
Kids under the mainstream program have a higher tuition fee because they have this pull out session wherein the teachers will help them with their concerns (behavior or cognitive).
My main issue with this school is the security since they don’t have one. They follow Japan’s style kasi. The admin person said that kids are only allowed to go in before the school time and go out during dismissal. They are thought to be responsible and follow rules. But still, with all the shooting incident in the US and because outside the school is not patterned with Japan, I’m afraid that bad people might try to get in. Second is the design of the whole building, it’s not polished for me. I’m afraid of the stairs’ design too.
They have a newly renovated building at Astroville Drive near Our Lady of Queen Parish in Queensrow and I heard that there is no 2nd floor in this location. That’s why they are planning to put all the mainstream kids there. I will update you once I visited it.
Tuition Fee for mainstream is just P36,000, I think regular kids are around P20,000-P30,000.
