Singapore: Tres Martinez First Family Trip Abroad
Going to Singapore was my family’s first trip abroad. My cousin who’s working there made this trip possible. We don’t have the luxury to travel a lot but if opportunity knocks who am I to say no. Going to a new place and experiencing new things is what I dream for my family. It is one of the things in my bucket list and it gives me so much joy to finally able to tick another one.
My impression of Singapore from what I have heard is that the people there are disciplined, the whole place is clean and the cost of living is high. Well, based on what I have observed everything is correct!
We arrived at Singapore on Sunday morning last August 14. The exact time was around 3am due to 3 hours delay of the plane arrival of Cebu Pacific airlines (original time is supposed to be 1am).
The Changi Singapore airport was so nice. It was carpeted, the comfort rooms are clean, there are charging stations everywhere and it’s quite spacious. It also has picturesque view.
My cousin fetched us at the airport. We had our breakfast at Mcdonald’s store first. Ren saw the Pets Happy Meal so we ordered 2 of it.
We then fell in line for the taxi going to our hotel. Nasita si Ren ng guard while waiting, lumabas kasi sya e hindi naman namin alam na kailangan mag stay inside the airport while waiting for the taxi. After that incident, I always ask my cousin about anything bago ko gawin, bawal ba to?, pwede ba’to? etc. Lahat ng galaw namin tinatanong ko haha.
When our taxi arrived, we put our luggage at the back, tapos itong si Noel pumasok sa right part ng taxi sa unahan. Hindi namin alam na sa right side pala ang driver’s seat haha… Sabi ng driver, “go to the other side”. Tapos nung asa loob na sya, sabi naman ni Ren, “daddy are you going to drive?” Wow mali moment talaga di kami sanay na asa right side ang driver.
We stayed in a 2 star hotel – Hotel 81 Classic. It is located at Joo Chiat District, 15 minutes walk from Paya Lebar MRT station. We stayed in a suite room with my aunt. It is an affordable yet decent place to stay for backpackers and guests who just want to have a good night rest after touring Singapore the whole day.
After fixing our things, we decided to sleep for a few hours and strolled Singapore around 9am.
