Acacia Hotel: Experience Global Cuisine at The Lobby
I have mentioned about Acacia Hotel in this blog a lot of times already. There are lots of Hotels here in the South but there is something about Acacia Hotel that makes me want to bring my family and stay here soon.
That is why when I got an invite to try their new menu at The Lobby, I didn’t think twice to say yes!!! I am very curious about what they have to offer. Acacia Hotel is the only hotel in the South with a grand Lobby where guests can meet, relax and most specially—dine.
The Lobby at Acacia offers ala carte dining featuring a well-planned menu of dishes inspired from various cuisines giving guests a taste of quality international choices. The inspiration behind the menu is the fusion of traditional and modern oriental flavors.
Head Chef Aldo Palayapay had this to say about how he created the menu “We wanted to give our guests variety when it came to choices but at the same time we also did not want to overwhelm them. My team and I handpicked international and local dishes which we thought anyone would enjoy. We gave each dish our own touch so we’re hoping they will like our version. Furthermore, we made the prices affordable with nothing more than Php 1,000 per dish”.
Without further ado, here are the dishes that was served to us:
Triple Mushroom Soup P250.00 ( a rich and creamy puree of earthy flavors of button, oyster and shiitake mushrooms topped with cream). I love the taste of this mushroom soup. It is good for sharing because of the generous serving.
Charcoal Grilled Prime Rib Eye 6oz P750.00 ( Tender and cooked the way you like). Served with baked stuffed herb tomatoes, fresh garden steamed broccoli, spiced potato wedges and three peppercorn sauces or triple mushroom sauces. It was served medium cooked and I liked it. It was moist and oozing with flavor. I also love the steamed broccoli that comes with it. I think I am the only one who finished all the broccoli on this plate.
Sinigang (Shrimp, Salmon or Beef) P 580.00 (White radish, mustard greens, string beans, eggplant, kangkong leaves in a sour tamarind broth). I am the one who requested for this dish. My husband is allergic to seafood so I don’t serve shrimp at the house. I took this opportunity to eat my favorite shrimp again. The Lobby’s Sinigang is one of the best tasting sinigang that I have tried for now. I like everything about it. I will come back again to order this dish.
Kalderetang Baka P 360.00 (Spicy beef cutlets stewed in tomato sauce with potato, bell pepper, green finger chili and peas. Served with steamed pandan rice.)
Lechon Kawali P250.00 (Deep fried pork belly served with pickled vegetables and garlic fried rice). I did not try this dish but my co-bloggers both agreed that it tasted good because the meat is soft and the pork skin is crunchy.
Nasi Goreng P300.00 (Indonesian dish of stir-fried rice served with chicken satay)
Angus Beef Burger P420.00 ( juicy 6 oz. US angus beef burger patty complete with trimmings and served with choice of cheddar, blue cheese, fried egg or crispy bacon). I know my husband who is into burgers will love this. The bacon is crispy and the burger is juicy. I also loved the taste of the bun that came with it.
It also came with french fries and tomato salsa. The french fries is served hot and I liked that it’s not that too salty.
Oreo Mudpie P 180.00 (Crushed Oreo cookies filled with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup and almond flakes). I love this dessert. I think that this is sulit for the price. This is a must try dessert when you visit The Lobby.
For the drinks, I highly recommend the green mango shake. Sorry, I don’t have a picture.
They also offer Pizza and Pasta, unfortunately we were already full to try these dishes. Maybe when I go back I will try it and update you of what I order.
Children can also enjoy savory yet kid-friendly selections at The Lobby from mini burgers to spaghetti and more.
Likewise, the Lobby at Acacia has a myriad of freshly baked pastries and savories which are available for dine in and take out. From 5 PM to 9 PM, guests may indulge in a wine buffet or beer buffet for only Php 549 nett and Php 500 nett respectively.
We were also toured around the hotel to see their rooms, function hall, pool, gym area and the newly opened massage area. But I have to experience staying there before I can fully review the rooms for you. Stay tuned on that!
