Hidden Ramen Spot in Alfonso That Feels Like Japan
If you love discovering food spots around Tagaytay and Alfonso, this is a place you need to add to your list. On our recent trip, my mommy friends and I stumbled upon a charming spot that looks like a Filipino ancestral house from the outside, but with a surprising twist once you walk in. It immediately caught our attention, and we knew we had to check it out.
The moment we stepped inside, warm lanterns greeted us, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect for the cool Alfonso and Tagaytay weather. Soft lighting, wooden interiors, and a relaxed environment make it a great stop for brunch, late lunch, or an early dinner before heading home.
This is Surugin Ramen House, located in Alfonso, Cavite. They are open daily, and during weekends you can visit from 11 AM to 8 PM, which is very convenient for travelers and food trippers in the area. They also have a spacious parking area, making the visit stress-free.
Of course, the star of the experience is the food. Their ramen is a must-try, with thick and flavorful broth, tender slices of meat, and noodles that are extremely satisfying. Every spoonful feels warm and comforting, especially on a chilly day.

Their shrimp tempura is one of the best we have tried in the area. It is crispy, crunchy, and perfectly cooked. The chicken karaage is juicy and flavorful, while the gyoza tastes freshly made. What surprised us is learning that they make their noodles in-house, which explains the fresh texture and quality.

For everything we ordered, our total bill was only ₱1,500+ including the 7% service charge. Considering the quality, serving size, and ambiance, it is truly worth the visit.

We had such a great time dining here and catching up with my mommy friends. Surugin Ramen House is definitely a spot we plan to return to. If you are exploring Alfonso or looking for a Japanese restaurant near Tagaytay, this place deserves a spot in your food trip itinerary.
