Sweeney Todd Featuring Jet Pangan and Ms.Lea Salonga

If you are a close friend of mine, I’m sure you know that I’m a fan of Ms.Lea Salonga. I love the quality of her voice and how she clearly pronounce every words she utters.

The first time I met her at an Ariel Instashine event and heard her sing for the first time, I was teary eyed.

I’m so happy when co-blogger Jeman of Orange Magazine, asked me to cover the media launching of Sweeney Todd at Solaire Theater the other day.

You know, I don’t attend events that are scheduled late at night (especially if I am not paid), if it’s raining and when you invite me at the same day of the event. But for Ms. Lea Salonga I made an exemption on my rules.

I also expected to receive tickets for the show after attending the presscon, but unfortunately waley hahaha.

I have watched Sweeney Todd the movie featuring Johnny Depp before and I love it! I have a thing with musical movies and cannibalism hahaha

SWEENEY TODD at SOLAIRE THEATRE

Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment group is thrilled to be staging SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET this October.

Ms. Lea Salonga will be Mrs. Lovett and Jett Pangan will lead the stage as Sweeney Todd.

Also joining them are Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, fresh off her critically acclaimed performance as Cynthia Weil in BEAUTIFUL, as Johanna, Luigi Quesada (DANI GIRL, WAITRESS) as Tobias, Arman Ferrer (MABINING MANDIRIGMA, BEAUTIFUL) as Beadle and Dean Rosen (BEAUTIFUL, WAITRESS) as Jonas Fogg. Completing the ensemble are Steven Conde, Sarah Facuri, Christine Flores, Jep Go, Kevin Guiman and Emeline Celis Guinid.

Sweeney Todd will be directed by Bobby Garcia and will have set design by Tony Award Winner David Gallo, musical direction by Gerard Salonga along with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, costume design by RAjo Laurel, choreography by Cecile Martinez, lighting design by Aaron Porter, hair and make-up design by Leslie Espinosa, vocal direction by Manman Angsico and sound design bu Justin Stasiw.

Bobby Garcia says, “We have gathered quite the cast for this retelling of Stephen Sondheim’s classical musical thriller. I think we will be bringing to the stage a unique version of Sweeney Todd, as told by some of the best musical theatre storytellers in the country, led by Lea Salonga and Jett Pangan. I am also so excited to be collaborating with a creative team full of genuises in their craft. I can’t wait to begin”.

PARENTS PLEASE TAKE NOTE: This show is recommended for ages 12+ due to it’s adult theme and violence. Please use your judgement based on your child’s age and maturity level. Children under the age of 7 will not be admitted inside the theater.
