Hong Kong Disneyland: 10 Attractions You Shouldn’t Miss
On our 2nd day at Hong Kong, our itinerary is to spend the whole day at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. I have read some travel blogs that you should be there before the opening time of 10:30am to have a nice picture at the front of the arch (without too much people taking photos at your back). But since we stayed at Disneyland Hollywood Hotel, we were able to pass by the area by 4pm at the park and we had the area all for ourselves.
Plus we can’t deny the fact that perhaps because of the protest happening in Hong Kong, there are lesser tourists visiting the area compared before.
We booked our tickets the night before our visit to the park. We didn’t book early because it is not refundable and I thought that our trip will not push through. Sayang kung madadagdagan pa ang mga bagay na binili namin at di na mababawi.
I used the Klook app (it is not sponsored ha). I liked that they accept Paypal as payment. I feel more secured with Paypal than inputting card details online. Instead of P4,217, I got our tickets for P3,715 each. You also have an option to buy tickets with meal.
We had an early lunch outside the park, before entering the venue. There is a food truck there that offers inexpensive rice dishes, that’s why we grabbed the opportunity. We know that the price range of restaurants inside the park ranges from HK$80-150 and up. At the food truck these dishes ranges from HK$30-60 only and the servings are huge, and in fairness, it taste good. (except for the glutinous rice we ordered)
Going inside the park was quick. They briefly checked our bags first (food are not allowed inside) then I just showed the QR tickets from my phone (emailed by Klook) then we were good to go. We skipped the line of buying tickets because of Klook (again, not sponsored hahaha).
By the way, you should download the Hong Kong Disneyland app as a guide of the time of the shows and locations where you can watch it.
Enough of the talk, now I will tell you the 10 Attractions inside Disneyland Park that you shouldn’t miss.
1. Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
This was my fave ride among all the rides we tried. If only it’s not already getting dark when we arrived here, my sister and I might go back in line and try it again. Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is a roller coaster in the Grizzly Gulch section of the park. It offers a mild (raw) roller coaster ride and there’s a section that goes backwards. Ang saya!
If you like a thrilling adventure but on a mild side, then this one is for you.
2. Iron Man Experience
We love Marvel, we did not miss any Marvel movies, and Iron Man is my fave Marvel Superheroes (daming word na Marvel hahaha).
I consider this 3D ride same as the Transformers : The Ride 3D at Universal Studios Singapore but not as intense. This ride will give you a glimpse of some areas in Hong Kong, Marvel Style.
3. Iron Man Meet and Greet
Of course, after the Iron Man Experience you should meet the man himself and have a picture with him. Remember, his character is dead in the movie already (at least in the latest one), so take the opportunity to meet him in the flesh here.
4. Mickey and the Wondrous Book
I heard good things about this show that’s why I made sure to see it and we were not disappointed. There were a lot of Disney characters that was featured and sang a few songs for us. Stay tuned for our video that I will include here soon.
5. Mystic Manor
This looks like a creepy, old mansion from the outside and well I love the entire trip we had inside. It’s magical and you will be mesmerized.
6. Flights of Fantasy Parade
This can be seen at the Main Street area and it last for 35 minutes. Here Disney Characters parade on the street with music, dance and some acrobatic stunts. You shouldn’t miss this and it only happens once every day. Stay tuned for my video of this parade.
7. Mickey’s Halloween Time Street Party
Since Halloween is near, they have this special parade called Mickey’s Halloween Time Street Party. There’s dancing and giving of candies during this parade. It’s at 4:15 pm in the Mainstreet USA area.
8. Disney Characters Meet and Greet
Various Disney Characters are roaming around to meet and greet with park guests. We met some of them, but we were not able to have a pic with Mickey and Minnie because the line here are quite long.
9. We Love Mickey! Projection Show
It’s sad that the Disney Paint the Night parade is closed during our visit. So, instead, this was the one they put. It’s a light show in the Main Street then Mickey Mouse will appear in the last part. It’s entertaining, but not as much I guess compared to the Night parade. Time is 7:30PM
We also have a video of this that I will post here soon.
10. Jack Skellington’s Villainous Gathering
Stay until night and since Halloween is just around the corner, they have this special show called Jack Skellington’s Villainous Gathering. After Mickey’s Projection show, run over the stage nearby and watch this at 8PM
Here they will feature some famous Disney Villains and they will entertain you through singing and dancing. I will post a video of this one soon also. Sorry for the blurry photos.
ATTRACTIONS WE MISSED AND SOME THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO SKIP INSTEAD
There are some areas we missed that I hope we were able to check out like the Small World and the Journey to Halloween Town.
We have not tried any rides at Toy Story Land too 🙁
We should have just skipped the Tarzan Tree House and the Ant Man and Wasp area. I find these two boring. For Ren he finds the Ant Man ride too fast and he said that he can’t understand the story line.
FOOD INSIDE THE PARK
Try specialized Character Food. There are caramelized popcorn, waffles, ice creams (shaped like Mickey) and these doughnuts and breads.
As you can see, their prices are bit high but if you can afford perhaps try one or two.
My son chose this double cheese toast.
We ate our dinner at StarLiner Diner. As far as I know they were the only one that offers less expensive dishes. We had American food that consists of chicken, burgers and fries. The servings are huge. My husband and I just shared the chicken.
If you have the budget, don’t forget to bring home some memorabilia.
That’s it! I think there would be more attractions that will open this coming November until February (peak season). I agree that you cannot see and try all the attractions in one day even if there’s no long line. If you want to check them all, spend at least 2 days in the area.
If you are gonna go there, tell me which one is your favorite.
By the way, take the MTR if you will go there so that you can enjoy the specialized train with Disney theme going to the park.

Omg! That food looks amazing. Our kids would probably love the Grizzly Mountain ride.
I’ve been doing some research and thinking about taking our family here on vacation. We love Disney and have already been to FL and CA. This would be a huge step for us, as we’ve never been out of the country as a family.
Thanks for sharing, loved the post.
