Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Champions a #ResilientPilipinas at the 2025 Disaster Resilience Forum
Introducing “The Big Wave” Framework for Stronger Community Preparedness
Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Cebuana Lhuillier, continues its mission to strengthen community preparedness through the Disaster Resilience Forum (DRF) 2025.

With the theme “#ResilientPilipinas, #LahatHandaAtLigtas: A Vision Forged by Action, Fueled by Collaboration,” this year’s forum united leaders from government, private sectors, and civil society to promote disaster awareness and proactive action across the Philippines.
The “Big Wave” Initiative: Preparing for Emerging Threats
This year, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation introduced the “Big Wave” framework, a groundbreaking initiative highlighting the growing risks of storm surges, sea-level rise, and tsunamis from the Manila Trench.
While many have long prepared for the “Big One,” CLFI emphasized the importance of also addressing these equally urgent threats. The organization aims to empower communities to plan ahead, strengthen response systems, and build resilience against all types of disasters.
Empowering Communities, One Barangay at a Time
Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, underscored the importance of local empowerment in disaster resilience:
“Resilience begins in every barangay. To truly build a Resilient Pilipinas, we must empower local communities with the tools, knowledge, and partnerships they need to withstand the Big One, the Big Wave, and every challenge in between. Our vision is simple but urgent: lahat ligtas at handa.”
Through education, partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives, CLFI continues to turn its advocacy into real action—helping barangays nationwide prepare for whatever comes next.
Highlights from the 2025 Disaster Resilience Forum
The forum featured three powerful sessions that reflected the event’s theme of Vision, Action, and Collaboration:
- Vision: Shaping a Resilient Future – Experts from DOST, PHIVOLCS, DILG, and ARISE discussed the importance of scientific foresight and local leadership.
- Action: Empowering Local Champions – Representatives from MMDA, OCD-NDRRMC, DSWD, and community leaders shared practical programs that have saved lives on the ground.
- Collaboration: Strengthening Solidarity for Impact – Government, academe, NGOs, and private companies came together to emphasize the power of working as one.
CLFI Executive Director Jonathan Batangan explained that DRF 2025 is more than just a conference—it’s a call to action.
“By putting the ‘Big Wave’ on the agenda, we challenge leaders to prepare for future threats. Real resilience happens when vision, action, and collaboration come together.”
Turning Advocacy into Impact
Beyond discussions, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation launched several on-the-ground initiatives under its Tulong sa Pagbangon program, which encourages Filipinos to help disaster-affected communities through digital wallets, QR codes, and coin canisters.
CLFI also donated E2G nutrient-packed food bars to the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) as part of its humanitarian aid efforts. This was made possible through Jean Henri Lhuillier’s role as Philippine Ambassador of E2G, a global partner providing emergency-ready food supplies.
Building a Safer, Stronger Nation Together
Through the Disaster Resilience Forum 2025, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation once again proves that resilience isn’t just about preparation—it’s about unity, compassion, and community action.
By sparking nationwide dialogue and providing real support where it’s needed most, CLFI continues to lead the way toward a #ResilientPilipinas where #LahatHandaAtLigtas.
