BIR: Steps to change your Official Receipt to Invoice
Last April 26, BIR made an announcement that all Official Receipts should be changed to Sales or Service Invoice.
They mentioned that you can still use the remaining OR if you will strike the word Official Receipt and stamp the word Sales Invoice or Service Invoice until December 30, 2024. But to do this you need to file an inventory of your remaining ORs to the BIR.
At first I thought that you could simply just stamp your OR and there are a lot of seller on Lazada and Shopee that offer a customized rubber stamp for this, but when I heard that you still need to go to BIR to submit the inventory of your booklet, I decided to just purchase the updated booklets since ganun din naman, asa RDO na ako para isahan na lang.
Here are the requirements if you are planning to purchase your new booklets too.
The BIR Form 1906 (Application for Authority to Print Invoices) can be downloaded here or you can get a copy directly in your RDO. You need 2 copies of this.
Bring a photo copy of your old ATP (Authority to Print ) and a copy of your valid ID.
In my RDO (54B), they did not ask for an inventory of my old ORs anymore, they told me to just dispose or keep the old unused receipts.
There are a lot of printing press near your RDO so just ask around. You will need their details for your Form 1906.
The minimum number of booklets is 10 and I paid P1500 for that.
The waiting time for your printed invoices was supposed to be just 1 week, but it can take as long as 2 to 3 weeks because of the volume of people applying for new booklets now.
That’s it.
