5 Things I Gained from Blogging for 12 years
Time passed by too quickly, I can’t imagine that I am still here in the blogging world for 12 years, woohooo!!! I have a lot of co-bloggers then that already stopped and switched to a different career already and I hope they are happy with what they are doing right now. Well, I am happy for them and I am glad that they found their passion in another path.
As for me, I love blogging and telling stories to my readers, it makes me sane somehow. Today, I’ll share with you 5 of the things I gained from doing this work.
Learned to tell a story and how to connect with people
Blogging made me sane as I have mentioned. I started it 12 years ago as something to entertain myself while I take care of my only son. I just resigned from work and I have no one to talk to at our house besides a boy who says gibberish words. I learned to document my thoughts, ideas, and experiences as a blogger also known as an influencer in this online world.
Gained friends
Connection is vital in blogging during the days. I learned to do blog hopping to get to know other bloggers in the blogging world. We are only a bunch of mommy bloggers at that time compared to now, and we don’t compete with each other. I gained friends and I believe that we love each other from then till now (hello to my Kumare Blogger friends). We support each other’s dreams and ambitions, and we want us all to be successful.
Be invited to exclusive events and visit places I haven’t been to
Thanks to blogging, I was able to be invited to exclusive media events. At some of those events, I met celebrities and famous people in the industry. Got the chance to be seated next to them, to talk to them, and just be with them in one room. For ordinary people like me, that’s already something.
Through blogging, I also got invited to visit places that I’ve never been to like Palawan together with my family. I have also received invites to high-end hotels that if they weren’t sponsored, I don’t know if we will be able to visit because of resources.
Being paid through blogging thus I was able to fulfill some of my dreams
I earned from advertisers like Google, local companies, Intellifluence, and more. Since my husband provides for our needs, I was able to keep what I earned, invest some, save some, and I used some to have our house renovated and buy a car. I may not be earning as huge as other bloggers but I guess I know how to handle my income well even how small they are.
Be able to help others
Blogging helped our family a lot financially, but it’s also the medium I used to reach out to others. I don’t just blog for no reason, but I want to be an influencer with a purpose and that is to be able to inspire others, to touch someone’s life through my story, and help some financially too.
There are a lot more actually, but these 5 are the main things I gained from blogging for 12 years already. If you were inspired by my story and want to start your own blog or vlog, then do it now not later. Good luck!
