Struggling for gift ideas? This might help!
Whether your own little one has a birthday coming up, or your child is a guest at the party of a friend, matching the right gift to the right child is not as easy as it should be!
With so much choice, the possibility of duplicating gifts and finding something that is budget friendly, it’s no wonder that most of us feel completely overwhelmed and end up giving a gift card instead. But don’t worry! Here I’ve come up with 6 gift ideas that might just help you get out of your gift giving rut. Whether you’re searching for nice toys for a 4 year old or something for your 8 year old daughter, hopefully the ideas below will help.
Good luck!
Educational toys
Who says they can’t learn while they’re having fun? Science toys are great fun and you can usually find one that’s age appropriate. You’ll find everything from creating their own lava lamp to growing their own crystals. If your little one is into mini beasts and bugs then try a minibeast explorer set or a butterfly net. A budding palaeontologist might just fall in love with a mini dino excavation set and a kid friendly microscope will provide hours of fun!
Outdoor toys
Getting the kids out of the house, away from screens and enjoying some fresh air isn’t as easy as it sounds. There are just too many distractions in the modern world. So why not help them fall in love with the great outdoors again and treat them to something that will keep them busy out there? A new swing set will bring loads of fun for years to come. Or something like a water tray table, that younger ones can play in. Playhouses are ideal for imaginative play as are wheeled toys like cars and sit on trikes. Footballs, netballs, hoops and goals are perfect for any little one that loves a ball game!
Art supplies
All kids LOVE getting arty. The paints, glue, glitter and the go-ahead to get messy without consequence might have something to do with it! An arts and crafts set filled with stickers, paints, glue, scissors, pipe cleaners and all other bits and bobs will certainly make any child happy. You could purchase one from a shop or build your own.
In the kitchen
Its always great to encourage little ones who love being in the kitchen. Children’s baking supplies including aprons, utensils and cookie cutters are in high demand and it’s easy to see why.
Board games
We all need something to do on those rainy days, or when we want to spend some time as a family. So, why not top up the board game cupboard? You’ll find junior versions of most of your favourite family games, as well as games that require plenty of movement, skill and concentration! You’ll be spoilt for choice.
Music
All kids love to make music. So, why not treat them to a music box that filled with some percussion instruments?
