Lakbay Museo at S Maison Overview
I received an invite to the media preview of a new museum at S Maison Conrad Manila a few days ago, but unfortunately because of #momnesia I was not able to come. I just learned about it when I saw some post of co-mommy blogger friends. I’m referring to LAKBAY MUSEO.
As a homeschooling family, I really want to bring my son there and see what they offer. Since we are at Toycon in SMX the other day, I thought to drop by and see if we can go inside to check it out. I know it will open on July 12, pero nagbakasakali ako π
I am soooo thankful that after I told them that I was not able to come to the media’s sneak preview, they let us in to check out the place.
Lakbay Museo is the most interactive and most informative museum about the Philippines. Visitors can smell, taste and even play with their exhibits to maximize the fun while learning all about our motherland.
ENTRANCE FEE: P699 if you’ll buy online. P799 for walk-in
You have 3 options to use when entering the area: Land (Jeep), Airplane (air -with slides), or vinta (water). Ren chose the airplane because of the slide haha.
Lakbay Museo will give you a glimpse of 11 regions in the Philippines. This museum allows you to travel, experience, and take IG-worthy photos from all over around the Philippines without having to leave Manila!
Lakbay Museo also offers to satisfy your feed thru different Filipino cuisines! Have a taste of the classic Filipino vinegar, a feast of the Philippine dried fish, a sniff and sip of various Philippine coffees, and the unique sensation of bagoong.
Visitors can feast their eyes on more than 600 dishes from 13 famous regional cuisines, and learn through the wide- set diorama of regional livelihood and local products.
Lakbay Museo was built on the foundation of environment conservation. Nearly all of the exhibits were constructed using 4,560 old and used rubber slippers and scrapped materials, 328 old rubber tires, 453 old car mats, and a variety of recyclable materials. The museum also provides job opportunities to out of school youths, non- professionals, local artists, disabled persons, and senior citizens.
What are chips for? You can buy food in their market area using the chips that are included with your ticket purchase (food ranges from 1-4 chips). If you want more, you could simply buy some at Villarica booth inside the area.
PWD and Seniors can get a ticket discount.
What I like about the place beside being IG worthy and learning about the various culture, food of some of the regions in the Philippines, is that they managed to include hard to find items in their collection. Plus they have an app wherein you’ll learn about the food on the table if you will scan the card.
Thank you Lakbay Museo for welcoming us π
