Orchard Golf and Country Club Halloween Event 2018 Review
Last year, Ren did not participate in any Trick or Treat event because he said that he’s too old for that kind of activity. Surprisingly for this year, he told me that he likes to participate once again.
We are not prepared for it and he doesn’t have any costume to wear so when I saw the Orchard Golf and Country Club theme which is Glow in the Dark, I thought that it’s a perfect venue for us who don’t have any costumes at all.
Besides I heard from friends that they had a good time trick or treating here last year. I paid P800 for our tickets (P600 for a kid+an adult and P200 for an additional companion).
We were excited when we arrived at the place. Orchard Golf and Country Club is an exclusive venue so it is not that crowded and they said that they only released a limited amount of tickets to accommodate everyone properly.
We were the first one in line, we arrived around 11:30. They opened the registration around 12:20pm (the announcement was 12:00pm).
Upon entering, we were amazed by the interior of the venue (Grand Ballroom). Madilim pero di ka naman mangangapa.
There was an area for face painting and glow in the dark accessories (unfortunately pahiram lang yun, you need to return it after the event).
The interior:
The kid’s ticket consists of a picture from the photobooth, buffet for the kid and 2 games. Ren chose to use it atΒ Can Knock Down game.
To get a prize you need to knock down all the cans which were so hard to do because the ball is too light. I don’t know if there was a kid who was able to do it.
Our picture from the Photobooth
They have games too. It’s nice that they separated kids ages 7-12 years old and kids ages 4-6 years old.Β The first game was a sack race, the second game was pass the movement, 3rd game was puzzle making and the 4th game was ring toss.
Ren joined the 2nd game because he didn’t make the cut off for the 1st game. Unfortunately, his team did not win.
Since he likes puzzles, he wanted to join the 3rd game again. He fell in line to join but they did not allow him because they said he already joined the last game. I told them that he did not win naman, butΒ still, it is not an exception daw.
Okay sana yun kung sobra sobra na yung batang gustong sumali (na hindi pa nakakasali), kaso that was not the case. They were looking for 3 more joiners tapos ayaw nila pasalihin anak ko. This pissed me off. It took them a couple of minutes to find a kid who wants to join and have not played before.
After the last game, they announced that the buffet is opened. Ren was soooo hungry even though I bought him some snacks available at the venue prior to the buffet. You know why? kasi hindi kami nabusog sa napakamahal na snacks nila. I ordered pasta for P95, doughnuts for P35 each and lugaw with only like 1/4 of an egg for P50.
Tapos ito na yung pinakahihintay na buffet ni Ren, guess what, yung servings pang 5 years old lang. The plate they have used is too small (mas malaki pa tinidor).
Our loot? here look
Things I like:
1. I was able to book our tickets online via bank transfer
2. The venue is nice and I like that it is not crowded
3. Ren was able to wear his glow in the dark t-shirt (less effort in our part)
4. I liked what the performers did to entertain the guests
Things I don’t like:
1. The P200 entrance for adult.
2. The booth with games are hard to do for kids to get a prize (parang ayaw nilang may manalo)
3. The group games, because I find that it’s not right to limit those who want to join if there are no other kids who want to join.
4. Their snacks. The taste is not worth its price.
5. The food for kids. Sana same na lang ng last year which is from a fast food chain daw.
My Verdict:
Honestly, I regret doing our Halloween Trick or Treating here. My friends and their kids had a good experience there last year but unfortunately, we had a different experience this year.
I hope that they will improve it next year, but I don’t think we will go back there again. We would rather go to Fun Ranch, Kidzania or stay in our subdivision’s trick or treating activity.

Grabe naman yun, considering di naman nanalo ayaw na ulit palaruin and the buffet, sana seperate yung sa older ages like Ren. Never experience Trick or Treat for my babies though I want to try next year but upon reading this parang ang hirap na mag punta sa mga ganyang kind of Trick or Treat event. π #spreadtheLev

It’s so disappointing when you look forward to something, spend on it and then it turns out terribly. We can always look on the brighter side of things but it’ll be a let down either way. Well, I guess lesson learned.

I must admit, I don’t enjoy Halloween celebrations before. I find it not truly Filipino in spirit and culture. But as time passes and we’ve got to celebrate it, I learn to embrace it as well. As long as I see my boys enjoying, I will welcome any change.

Bakit ganun? Ang alam ko sa buffet, eat all you can, diba?

Aw, that’s sad! I hope the organizers get to read your review and learn something from it. More, I hope your son enjoyed the activities pa rin somehow.

That plate was too small nga. And this!!! Tsk! – “Okay sana yun kung sobra sobra na yung batang gustong sumali (na hindi pa nakakasali), kaso that was not the case. They were looking for 3 more joiners tapos ayaw nila pasalihin anak ko.”

After the event makikita mo andami pang loot bags for prizes sa ilalim.
Mommy Levy says
next year, maghahanap na lang ako costume at mag stay sa subdivision namin hahaha

Same experience , last year maganda mga trick or treat nila now as in ” kuripot” 1 candy masakit sa paa at nakakapagod parang u have to stay at home na lang and buy a pack of candy π. Sa Estancia kami and u need 3500 receipt to join tapos konti lang laman ng loot bag 1 soft ball at 1 spinner then candies na let say worth 50 . Then when we go for trick or treat some says later pa ung iba ubos na. We were only 20 kids kasi lahat yata nasa landers pasig π upon registering our kids nag jump kami landers to finally realize soooo crowded pala kaya after mag eat bumalik kami Estancia. Naloka kami kasi di binigay lootbag nung spare namin na ticket kasiwala kids kahit they grant us because we have receipts. Last year maganda lootbag nila worth it ang amount needed purchase unlike now. π maybe next year magbook nqlang kami sa hotel for trick or treat π.
