Olympic Theme Birthday Party for Ren at 10
Ren loves watching Sports channels, his fave sport is Football/Soccer. He also knows all the flags of the world. So when I asked him what’s the theme of his 10th birthday, he told me he likes to have an Olympic Birthday Party.
Unfortunately, doing an outdoor party is hard in this kind of unpredictable weather so we ended up choosing McDonald’s to be our party venue.
Of course, Mcdo has their own theme, as I have mentioned in my previous post we have chosen a Ronald and the Gang theme and then we just added a few things to make it into our original plan of Olympic Theme party.
First we made some DIY flag decorations for the background.
The Olympic cake was from Canvas Cake Studio who made this beautiful and yummy cake. I trusted them so much that I did not give any peg to copy. I just told them what’s the theme was, so we were surprised that it turned out really wonderful. My son was delighted when he saw it.
If you’d like to get one, contact them in their Facebook page or Instagram account, or you can call them at 0995 722 9912 or eevn email them at canvascakestudio@gmail.com
I also made some DIY gold medals that are supposed to be for the winners of the games, but I was not able to give it to them (busy ako mag asikaso ng mga kids hahaha).
For the giveaways, I decided to put some candies, cookies and gold chocolate coins inside this container instead of a paper bag so that they can still reuse it. We just printed the thank you card that we put on it.
We did not make an invitation because Mcdo gave out 30 pieces of it. Sayang naman kung di ko gagamitin. Plus ang kunti lang naman ng ininvite namin, plus everything is digital now. We invited some through text and Facebook messenger (all are close friends so formality is not an issue).
For the games, I prepared the following:
1. Flags Identification – there’s two teams with 5 members. They have to identify the flags that Ren will show, the first one to get it right will have a point.
2. Trip around the World – it’s like trip to Jerusalem.
3. Pass that Ball – but unfortunately we forgot the ball, so we’ve used a balloon instead.
4. Color Sorting- 3 kids will have to sort the colors (colors of the Olympic logo) inside an M&M Chocolate and the first one to finish it will win.
Here’s the only family picture we’ve got by the way. If you have extra budget, get a camera man to take your pictures para may maayos kayong kuha 🙂
