Our Family Staycation at Island Cove
We had a late summer get away last week at Island Cove in Binakayan, Cavite. It was quite late na because Ren had a summer class in his new school for 1 month and I’ve waited for it to end before I booked a room at Island Cove.
Booking was easy, I just called them and told my chosen date plus what kind of room I liked including the bed type (King or Double) then the confirmation was sent to my email immediately.

We arrived at exactly 2pm on Sunday.Β Since we only commuted going to the place, it’s a plus point for them that they have this in-house shuttle that will transport you from the gate to the Hotel area. Take note that food are not allowed inside the room, our baggage were checked by a guard first before entering the premises.
Checking in was a breeze. They just asked us to deposit P1,500 refundable upon checking out. Β The hotel has only 2 floors. Our room was located in the second floor overlooking the hotel’s pool.

- Drinking water is provided in each hotel room in re-usable sanitary tumbler. This is one of Island Coveβs initiatives to decrease number of plastic bottles that occupy landfills. Water is refillable upon request.

(Here’s the veranda) there’s an insect repellent at the table that you can use if you want to stay here in the evening. Because of the trees around the area, insects are everywhere so it’s better to keep the door closed all the time.

This is the Oceania Swim & Splash Park. Entrance here is FREE for hotel guests but you can avail a day tour for P370 for adult and P300 for kids (excluding the tables and chairs that you can rent separately). Take note that you cannot bring food and beverage inside.
Inside the Oceania area, they also have a gaming area where you and your family and even friends can play billiards, table tennis, paintball, airsoft, play xbox, wii or even rent a bike. The rates are published at the entrance.

They also have an Aviary where you can see some birds like eagles, ostriches, parrots and many more. Plus there’s a monkey, some rabbits, snakes and a bear cat.
I intentionally brought with me some clothes for exercise because I saw that they also have a gym. You can get a free pass if you’ll stay at the hotel. I took a quick trip here before our breakfast and tour at Oceania.
The Fit Club also offers Gym Membership for non hotel guests. The annual membership fee is P9,000 (w/o monthly due) or P2,500 + P750/month (with monthly due). Walk-ins can avail the use of the gym for P200.
Since we went there on a weekend (Sunday), they have this horse riding activity that is so affordable for only P50 per 15 minutes ride. We let Ren experience it and he liked it.
We were able to try riding this calesa and it toured us around the area for FREE.
They also have a Spa, but I was not able to try it unfortunately.
We decided to have our dinner at the nearest mall SM Bacoor. But if you don’t want to go out, you can try their delicious food at the Fishing Village. Read my review of some of the food HERE
Free breakfast for 2 was included in our booking. I was expecting for a plated breakfast only but I was surprised that besides the plated food, there are some extras that are in the buffet area (lugaw, champorado, bread, siomai and various juices). We had our breakfast at Sangley Point.
We paid for Ren’s breakfast for P350.00.

Overall, we had fun staying at Island Cove. Because it’s quite near our place I was not tired when we arrived home. There’s nothing fancy aboutΒ their room but the aircon was so cold and functioning well. The place is quiet and the staff are so friendly. We will visit them again someday.
