Behind the Scene Of Ren’s Amazing Toys in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho

I was contacted by a Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho researcher last Thursday if they can interview Ren for a segment about toy reviewing. I was hesitant to say yes because they want to do it Friday afternoon immediately. I was at an event that day, at naiisip ko pa lang yung paglilinis ng bahay para sa shoot, naii-stress na ako.

But, it’s for Ren and his channel, some of my mommy friends na sinabihan ko convinced me to do it… kaya sabi ko na lang, bahala na si Batman then I said yes! to the researcher.

Grabe! naglinis kami ng bahay ng wala sa oras (we barely do this, seriously). We don’t have any house help, so Noel and I did all the cleaning by ourselves. Buti na lang may gate na kami at na-extend ko na ang kitchen namin, kasi mas madali ng gumalaw. We’re living in a small townhouse unit na sakto lang sa’min kaya if may bisita nasisikipan na kami 🙂

Then the day came, andyan na sila sa gate ng subdivision. But, bago sila dumating sa bahay the guards went to our house first (with the subdivision’s property manager), to confirm na may ini expect kaming bisita. I did not ask for a permit (unlike with our previous TV appearance) kasi hindi naman magsho shoot sa clubhouse or anywhere outside our house.

Pero since andyan na si  property manager, naglakas loob ako to ask if we can do the interview at the clubhouse in front of our house. I was surprised he said yes!

Ren as seen here was so happy to be in front of the camera. They asked him a lot of questions. He mentioned some companies but of course we understand that they needed to edit it. The interviewer also asked if he can say some tagalog words… hirap na hirap sya but was able to say some.

I was featured as a video blogger. I barely do video blogging where I talk in front of the camera, so I’m a little bit hesitant to do it. Ang dami kong take kaya dito.

After the interview, we went back to the house for some photo shoots of the room where Ren does his toy reviewing. In Ren’s video we use a green screen for easy editing of the background. His dad was the one who taught of this.

My husband was featured as toy collector. He loves toys and still got some of his own toys when he was young, but he let Ren play with them when he was 2 years old so yung iba sira na at wala ng parts. Ganun din sya ng bata sya, mas gusto nya din namang paglaruan ang mga toys kesa itago sa box.

We were laughing hard when we saw it last Sunday kasi Noel said a lot of things pero wala man lang lumabas.

Friends and families PM’d me that they saw us on TV and was proud of us 🙂

 

For those who doesn’t know Ren has Autism, and being able to do what neuro typical kids can do and sometimes he does better is an accomplishment.

We agreed to do this thing because this is what makes him happy. He likes to be invited to toy conventions and toy stores. This is also one way to practice him talking and expressing what he feels (just like what I said on the video).

We were asked when do we buy him toys, we said that it’s just when there’s a sale, or when he did something great that needs to be rewarded. Some of his toys were also given to him.

We’re so proud of this boy.
