A Simple Fever and Cold Ruined My Week
Fever, cold and cough are so “in” these days. The changing weather I think is the main culprit. My husband was the first one who got a fever for 3 days, followed by my son and now ako naman nakikiuso.
I think I got it last Saturday when I went to 2 birthday parties tapos biglang ang lakas ng ulan paglabas.
My cold started last Tuesday. I’m feeling dizzy already while inside my son’s classroom, e aircon pa naman. I’m so happy when it was declared that there was no classes last Wednesday because I was able to take a rest. But it was also my mom’s birthday so since I promised that we will have lunch outside even though I am not feeling well, I still decided to go on with the plan.
Look at my sick face.
I was not able to play with my niece and stay long with my family because I’m feeling cold and feverish already. When we arrived home, I stayed at our room and slept for the rest of the day.
On Thursday, I wrote a letter to Ren’s school that I won’t be able to accompany Ren inside the room because I’m sick. Ayoko mahawa ibang kids sa’kin and mas lalo ako mabibinat dahil ang ginaw sa loob. I went home immediately after I brought him at school but decided to go to Alabang before I fetched him to get our passports from DFA. Sobrang tagal na ng passport na yan, kaya ayoko ng i-delay. Kung may problema, gusto ko may time pa ko para maayos bago kami umalis. Thank God that when I checked the details everything was okay. Yahoo!
When we arrived home, nilagnat na naman ako. Thankfully, there’s no classes last Friday because of the storm so pahinga ulit ako maghapon.
Every Saturday, Ren has a socialization class in Manila but because of the bad weather and me feeling ill, we were not able to attend the class again.
There are a lot of things I was not able to do because of my sickness. My husband was so busy but I am thankful that he shares the load of doing household chores while I’m at bed resting. He washed the dishes, cooked rice, cleaned the house, helped Ren with his assignments and took good care of me. He was the one putting a wet towel on my forehead to lessen my hot temperature and give me medicine.
Maisingit ko lang, I hope that all the misters out there will help their misis in sharing the load not only when they are sick or not feeling well.
Here is the viral video that has been featured by CNN and has been applauded by global gender-equality icon, Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook. The video is about men who #ShareTheLoad through helping their wives do household chores.
Nice commercial right?
Anyway, since I was able to use my laptop and write this story, you should know that I’m feeling better na. Not really 100% but I’m getting there slowly. After this I’ll take a rest again.

Vitamins, citrusy fruits and kisses from loved ones– surely these would make you feel better. And i agree. I admire those husbands helping with the household chores. Plus double admire to those who take care of their misis kapag may sakit.

I hope all is well with you now, Madam Levy! And yes, I agree, husbands should help their wives with household chores. It’s tiring doing them all alone the entire week. Hay!

True, bawal magkasakit ang nanay and it pays to have support system like the husband, the househelp and products like Ariel that makes laundrying easier!!! 🙂

Good to know that you’re feeling better, Levy. Ang hirap talaga pag merong may sakit sa bahay and pag tayo yun, extra hirap coz there are things around the house na pwedeng hindi magawa. Kudos talaga sa mga husbands who share the load. In my opinion, ganon naman dapat talaga. 🙂

Get well the soonest and take care of your health always, Mommy! Alam mo naman tayong mga nanay, bawal magkasakit. Daig pa si Darna sa pagka Superhero kaya when we do get sick, parang everything stops. Kudos to the men who takes over when their wives are sick.

I’ve seen the commercial before and I love it.
Sometimes, I tell myself that “bawal magkasakit pag nanay” It’s very difficult because nobody else (especially if there’s no maid) does the work the way moms do. Dads just do thins differently. haha
Mommy Levy says
I agree.
Nhessie says
Glad that you are better now mommy. But really, I am amazed at how you still managed to do all those things while not feeling well! You are super Mom! 😄
Mommy Levy says
no choice, mahirap din walang kasambahay

I’m glad you’re getting better. I was also sick last May (or beginning of June, I believe) and it wasn’t easy. It’s the 2nd time I watched that Ariel commercial and I still get teary-eyed!
