My Luxury Facial Experience Plus More at Luminisce Skin and Laser Clinic
I can’t think of anybody I know who do not have any skin problems.
When I was in high-school, I remember having an oily skin so I always put baby powder to lessen it. When I was in college I discovered face powder. But those things just prevent my face not to be oily in a few minutes, it did not cure it. My break outs are always on my T-zone (mostly on the nose area). I heard from others that pimples will get uglier if you force to remove it. So kahit minsan naduduling na ko sa pimples sa ilong ko, tinitiis ko lang. I let it get dry and disappear on it’s own. What I didn’t see coming was because it was not treated properly, I got some sebaceous hyperplasia (research it na lang because it’s so ugly I don’t want you to lose your appetite haha).
I already tried a lot of skin care products that promises to get a clearer skin, but nothing works. I visited some dermatologists for consultation, but unfortunately I am afraid to have them remove it. I don’t like their “doubtful” facial expression whenever I ask if after the treatment my nose will be smooth again or will I ever got a scar after. So, I ended up not letting them do anything about it. Natatakot ako na imbes na maging okay e mas grumabe pa.
If budget permits, I usually visit skin care clinics for facial and salons for my hair. I know that to have a perfect skin, someone should spent more time, effort and money for it. Skin is the biggest part of our body and unfortunately it is one of our body parts that we usually neglect.
I went to Luminisce Skin and Laser Clinic at BGC a few days ago. I saw some blogposts and good reviews of this clinic from co-bloggers so I thought of giving them a visit. Besides I am just around the area at that time.
Luminisce Skin and Laser Clinic
Luminisce is founded by wellness expert and health advocate Dr. Kristina ‘Kaycee’ Cuevas Reyes, an internationally-trained medical professional having completed her Diploma in Dermatology and Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology from King’s College and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s & St. Thomas Hospital in London, respectively.
She now specializes in lasers and Complementary and Alternative Medicine, serving as a visiting fellow in hospitals in Singapore and Thailand, as well as having practiced wellness and acupuncture at the Philippine General Hospital. To her, she believes that beauty begins with a balance of the skin, body, and mind.
Luminisce Skin & Laser Clinic is located at the 2nd floor of Mercury Drug building (in front of St. Lukes’s BGC). I felt in love with their interior when I saw it. The clinic’s interior is vibrant, clean and posh, it has a luxurious and relaxing feel.
When I arrived, the staff gave me a form to fill-up, it is where I indicated all my skin concerns. I sit for a while and then Dr.Kaycee greeted me with her warm smile, she then asked her staff to bring me some bread and coffee.
This kind of VIP treatment is what I am looking for in every service establishments that I am in. I love to be treated special 🙂
The staff then guided me to a private room where my treatment was held. There, Dr.Kaycee met me again and had my skin consultation.
I told her all my concerns, first was my sebaceous hyperplasia on my nose. She checked it and gave me two options, one is removing it all using a laser, she was honest to tell me that it has a downtime unfortunately. Meaning my skin will have visible wounds and scabs after. It might appear darker or whiter when healed too.
The other one was an IL injection but I need to do it 6 or more times to see improvements or for it to totally get flatten. It has no downtime but the treatment is longer. What I like about her is that she is knowledgeable and open about the treatment. When she gave me some options I felt relieved that she really knows what she’s doing (this my friend is what I’ve been looking for from the other skin care clinics I’ve been to).
She opted to do the IL injection because I don’t like the downtime. I know I can tolerate injections too.
My next concern was I can see new small warts on my face. I had warts removal a few years ago and now they’re coming back sadly. She checked it and saw a few (thank goodness), when she asked me if I wanted to remove it now, I excitedly say “yes of course!”.
She said that overall my skin is fine naman it just needs a little improvement.
Luxury Facial (P2,500)
This is the first treatment they did to my face. Luxury facial is Luminisce’s special facial treatment that deep cleans pores and removes bacteria-causing acne, trapped dirt and excess oil while minimizing pores up to 2 weeks.
First, the nurse cleaned my face and did a relaxing facial massage.
Then, the sonophoresis procedure was made. It is a process wherein ultrasound waves seep nutrients into the skin, removing blackheads and whiteheads along the way. They do pricking too but my nurse said we don’t need it that time (hays buti na lang).
After that, these electric currents were used. It safely passes through the skin using a special machine to lift and revitalize the skin.
Then my favorite part, an oxygenating machine releases cool, pressurized oxygen into the skin to hydrate and open the pores. I have a video of me but since it was my first time, I felt ticklish and had many facial expressions.
I am glad I saw this video of Ms.Carmina Villaroel for you to see how it is done.
Clear Laser Peel (P5,500)
They put carbon lotion on my face first.
This Clear laser peel promotes skin rejuvenation, decrease oiliness and tighten pores. It also regenerates collagen, lightens melasma and pigmentations, cures acne, even and softens skin tone, minimize pores and fades fine wrinkles.
This is what my face looked like after this procedure:
IL Injection ( P3,000)
This is for my sebaceous hyperplasia. Dr.Kaycee injected something (I forgot to ask what it was) on the affected area. Yes she personally did this procedure on my face.
It’s a little bit ouchy but it’s tolerable. After the treatment, I did not feel any pain at all.
Fotona Warts Removal (P7,000)
As I have mentioned, Doctora saw a few warts on my face and we want it to be removed. Compared to my warts removal before via cauterization, at Luminisce they use Fotona 4D. Unlike other methods, the laser treatment does not affect the surrounding healthy tissue therefore the recovery as they said is much faster. They did not put anesthesia anymore since my warts are still small. Doctora and the another doctor personally did this procedure.
A video posted by Levy Martinez (@iamlevym) on
I am glad that it is not so painful. They asked me to buy their prescribed antibiotic cream that I can put twice a day for faster recovery.
Overall, I felt beautiful after my facial/skin treatment. I felt that my face is lighter now haha. I wish to continue the IL Injection for my nose because that is really my main concern.
Thank you Doctora Kaycee for identifying what exactly it is on my nose, because now I can search more about it. I have read that someone who have it should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables plus drink more water. Also avoid oily and fatty food.
I highly recommend Luminisce Skin and Laser Clinic, they have a solution to every skin problems that we have from skin to toe. Plus they have state of the art machines that works. You might think that the prices are quite expensive but if you really want to have a fairer and healthy skin you have to invest on it. So be a #SKINvestor and book an appointment now.
