Mesa Filipino Moderne at Tagaytay
During our stay at Tagaytay, we had dinner at Mesa Restaurant at Skyranch. It is one of the restaurants I’ve researched that is near Taal Vista Hotel. This restaurant made me interested because of it’s cozy ambiance and affordable menu. Mesa is a part of the Lamesa Grill group of restaurants, co-owned by Kiko Pangilinan.
It was very cold at that time when we visited the place that we can barely walk from the hotel to Skyranch where this restaurant is located. We were also quite hungry and we were lucky that when we arrived there were only few guests dining. We were seated in a bamboo egg shaped chair which looked like we were inside a rocket ship hehe.
We needed to warm our bodies, we were looking for Bulalo but it’s not included in their menu so we ordered Chicken Binakol (Php 235.00) instead. This dish is one of the best selling items in their menu. It is chicken simmered in broth with buko and green papaya. It was served in a coconut husk and the serving is good for 3-4 persons. Sulit!
Noel and I wanted to eat adobo so we ordered Chicken Pork Adobo Mesa Way (Php 185.00). The taste is okay, it is not the usual adobo that we were used to, but we liked it though.
Overall our total bill was around Php500.00 plus which we thought was fair enough for the good food and great service we received.
BTW, I have used my phone camera to take the pictures because we left our DSLR cam at the hotel which explained why the photos were not that good. But you should not judge the look for what the food tastes like.
