Ren’s First Grading Grades Result
Ito na!!! ito na ang pinakahihintay ko… ang makita ang 1st grading card ni Ren hahaha
I am excited to see his first grading card because it is different from when he was a preschooler. This time there are separate grades for subjects and work ethic grades.
Just to let you know, I am not the competitive kind of mom who is very conscious of my son’s grades. I am more concerned on his behavior inside the classroom. That is what I learned from doing homeschooling for 1 year. Ren being a smart kid is only a bonus.
Unlike last year where I was so nervous to receive his 1st grading grades, this year I am more relaxed and cool.
Grade 1 is very different from preschool. The curriculum is meatier, the teachers are more strict and the exams are veeeery long.
Here are some samples of Ren’s exams, to show you a glimpse of being in Grade1. I just choose the part where he got a nice score hahaha.
SCIENCE
ENGLISH
MATH
HEKASI
FILIPINO
Ren is under a mainstreaming program at school, but he is not treated different with everybody else. He takes the same exams, he recites when he needs to and he is required to follow the classroom rules and regulations.
If you noticed, his penmanship is not yet that nice. He really doesn’t like writing. When he was 5 years old he usually throws his pencil or hide it just to make sure he will not be able to write.
But even though his handwriting it is not yet that good, what I like about him now is that he can write for a longer period of time. He still whines when you ask him to write his assignment or lessons but he finishes it naman.
For the 1st Grading results, these were his grades:
English,Language & Arts – G (or equivalent to 85%)
Math – VG (or equivalent to 92%)
Science – G (or equivalent to 89%)
Filipino – G (or equivalent to 89%)
Hekasi – VG (or equivalent to 93%)
MAPE – VG (or equivalent to 90%)
I was surprised to see that his highest grade was HEKASI. I guess Ren is really very good in memorization.
For the second grading, I hope he will be able to write better, not whine anymore and also to be able to socialize with his classmates.

Wow, great job Ren! Like you mommy Levy, I am not after the grades, I am more focused on my son’s behavior in school. Following your link at mainstreaming program, I’ve found out that the school is really nice, this must be a reason why your boy is doing well because environment and peers support are very essential.

Good job mommy and Ren! I know how it feels like esp. being a parent of a special needs child. I just got my son’s grades in nursery and I was happily surprised. He’s also in an inclusive school. I’ve learned not to have any expectations but he continues to amaze us. I smiled when I read the part about Ren not wanting to hold a pencil, same with my son 🙂

Congrats to mommy and Ren! 🙂 The good grades of our children also reflects the parents’ efforts poured into teaching. 🙂

Hi Levy! My daughter also started grade school this year. It’s so much different from their pre-school days where lessons are very hard. I got the feeling, they are studying at a much quicker phase now as compared during my days.
Congrats to you and Rens for the high grade
