Healthway Medical saves the day!
Yesterday, Ren got a “sinat” while he was inside the classroom. I noticed it when he seemed tired and sleepy. He told his teacher that his right ear is ouchy.
He was not able to finish his sandwich during their break time, a sign that there is really something wrong. I know he is suffering so I told him that I will bring him to the nearest hospital after class to see an EENT.
There are 2 hospitals near my son’s school, but what a surprise… both of them didn’t have a pediatrician or EENT at that time. The Hospital (near SM Molino) told me to go back tomorrow (which is today) because the EENT’s schedule is 1-3PM every Friday.
This morning, I checked the website of the hospital to get the name of the EENT doctor and their schedules as well. That is because when I asked the reception area for the schedule, they told me they didn’t have any because they forgot to print it yet. Unfortunately the site is not updated and I can’t get any valuable information there.
I then remembered Healthway Medical. My husband and I, before we had Ren went there for check-ups and laboratories. We both don’t like hospitals because of the negative feeling we get whenever we are there. What we like about Healthway Clinics is that it is situated inside the malls. After check-ups we usually stroll around and shop as if nothing happened.
I checked their branch here at Alabang Town Center and Festival Mall to see if they have doctors on schedule. Wow! I am so happy that they do have one. I am impressed.
But we did not go there first, dinala ko muna sa Ren sa malapit na hospital kasi nilalagnat sya. But unfortunately to my dismay, when we arrived, the receptionist told us that the doctor just cancelled his schedule. They told me that they were still waiting for the other doctor scheduled on 3-5PM to confirm if he/she will go to the hospital.
Sabi ko na nga ba maydidismaya lang ako. Bat ba kasi ako umasa.
I told Ren that we will just go to Alabang. I felt that he needs medical attention ASAP and I cant wait for another hour or worse a day for him to be checked.
I am glad that Alabang Town Center is just a few minutes away from us.
Here is the Healthway Entrance at the second floor of the mall.
The staff are very accommodating and the facilities are okay. We were lucky that there are only a few patients when we went there. They even have a TV monitor that entertained Ren while waiting for his name to be called.
Here is Ren being checked by the EENT – Dr. DIAZ, KATHRINA AQUINO MD.
The doctor gave him an antibiotic and a cream to put on his right ear.
The consultation fee was P600.00, I am just not sure if it’s already the standard consultation fee.
After doing a good job, I treated Ren to one of his fave fast food chains.
Next time that he will be sick, I will not waste my time to go to the nearest hospital in our area but instead I will just go to Alabang and be checked by professional doctors from Healthway.
I am thinking of availing their executive check-up soon ( I will blog about this if this will push through).

Kami naman ng asawa ko, we always go to clinics first namely Healthway or Medicard before going to the hospital kung meron sa amin ang may sakit. Matagal kasi pag sa hospital at minsan, like you mentioned, wala yung doktor. My son’s Pedia, my OB, and my husband’s physician are all in Healthway ATC/Festival Mall kaya I really do recommend this clinic. 600 din talaga sis ang rate nila kapag specialist ang doctor. I do suggest you take advantage of the Healthway cards para kahit papano may discount kayo the next time you check up. I do believe theyoffer seasonal packages din. I hope your son’s condition has improved kahit papano π

Yung pedia kasi ni Ren sa Manila pa, kakalipat lang namin here sa Cavite so I am not yet that familiar with small clinics. Buti na lang malapit kami sa Alabang. We have a card before pero nag expired na hahaha (forgot ano name ng card and its benefits). I will check nga yung bago nilang card na inooffer. Thank you sa tip π
