My Great Food: New Found Cooking Companion
One Friday morning, I was at Marmalade Kitchen to witness the launching of a new app from San Miguel Purefoods – My Great Food.
The event was hosted by Ms. Christine Jacob-Sandejas with whom I was star struck. I was not able to answer her immediately when she asked me about what my blog is all about (silly me).
The event is about the My Great Food website and app, it is the forefront of the San Miguel – Pure foods Group’s efforts to reach the Filipino household. This is to provide their consumers with new and interesting ways to use San Miguel – Pure Foods products in the recipes they develop.
During the event, Chef Aileen Anastacio, showed us how to cook Eggs Benedict.
This meal’s recipe and procedure can also be found at the www.mygreatfood.com website and app.
My husband always asks me to try poaching an egg, but I am afraid to do it since it looks difficult. I am glad that I saw how it is done personally and I think I can do it confidently now.
Chef Aileen also made an Almond Roca Frappucino. It looks yummy!!!
Our group by the way won the “Guess the Recipe” contest, thanks to Peachy of The Peach Kitchen for doing most of the works hahaha.
After the event, they gave us some Purefoods Products to try at home.
Here is a fact that some of you might not know, I personally don’t like any other brand of corned beef except Purefoods, and my friends and families know that. For me, it is meatier and I could actually taste it’s real beef.
I allow my boys to eat processed foods once in a while, because our house has democratic rules that we follow. But If you want it, then you should also eat the vegetables that comes with it.
I am glad that most of the recipes at the MyGreatFood website and app have vegetables with it.
And yesterday morning, I tried one of the recipes on the website – Egg, Potatoes and Corned Beef.
This is the first time I have put tomatoes on a corned beef meal. The usual recipes that I have cooked were Purefoods Corned Beef + Brocolli and Purefoods Corned Beef + Potatoes.
I am glad that all the ingredients I needed were just at my pantry:
After following the easy to follow procedures, here is my finish product
The husband and son woke up with this dish waiting for them and they both loved it!
Did you sometimes experience asking yourself this question “ano na naman kaya uulamin namin ngayon?” ako… madalas.
What’s nice with the website is that you can save the recipes that you like and make a meal plan for the whole week.
Besides the menu planner and personalized recipe page, the site also displays a cooking video gallery. It also has a social networking feature that allows it’s members to interact and share their culinary experiences.
Hey look, after signing up, I am now a certified member.
My Great Food members will receive updates on special events, kitchen tips, recipe ideas and latest trends in the food and dining scene.
