Movie Stars Cafe: A Restaurant for the whole family

Happy Easter everyone!!!!

Last Easter Sunday, my two boys and I went to SM MOA to dine at Movie Stars Cafe. I’ve been reading good reviews of the place and I am glad that we were given a chance to experience what it’s like to dine there.

Movie Stars Cafe is located at the back of SM Mall of Asia near Two E-Com Center. The area is approximately around 1000 sqm with a seating capacity of at least 300pax. The restaurant’s interior and exterior is so inviting. It catches the attention of both kids and kids at heart.

There are a lot of statues of famous characters from movies like Catwoman, Shrek, Spiderman, Aliens etc. around the place and also some posters of blockbuster movies and autographed pictures of famous actors and actresses.

There is a wide screen on the stage and a lot of monitors that play different channels simultaneously all over the place.

I am impressed!!! But wait let’s check the food.

You have a choice to either to go on a buffet or ala carte. I choose to have myself go on a buffet to be able to taste the foods in the buffet table, while the two boys decided to order a pizza.

This is the salad area. Try the vinaigrette sauce. It’s yummy!

I  tried the classic carbonara over the sausage pasta. I liked that the Carbonara is creamy and delicious

I ate the Fish Fillet, while Ren took the Pork Cordon Blue

I like the crispiness of the Chicken Karage. I did not try the burger patty

The Italian fried chicken is okay. I love the seafood thermidor, it’s yummy and creamy. The Beef with mushroom is also highly recommended.

these are the desserts available yesterday. I have tasted 3 pieces, I like that it is not too sweet and not to bland either.

This is the 18′ pizza that the boys ordered.

El Grande Pizza Php 490.00

Noel and Ren enjoyed munching on this pizza. It maybe thin but they did not able to finish all of it. We were able to take home some slices which we ate for breakfast the next day. Noel said that for Php 490, this pizza is a good value for money.

Sweet 16- Chocolate decadent moist cake served with strawberry ice cream Php 260.00

Staff in costumes and their performances is also one of the highlights when dining at Movie Stars.  Everyday there is a different line up of performances.  The schedule last Sunday was this:

We had fun watching the different performances especially the Beauty and the Beast musical.  Noel and I laughed our hearts out with the costumes and everything.

The entertaining shows coupled with the good food plus the excellent service are a good combination for you to stay longer in the place. If only we were not that time conscious, we could have stayed at the place until midnight.

Then Ren had a photo opp with some of the cosplayers.  I told him that he will see Bumblebee, but unfortunately he was not there.

Be prepared of loud sounds when the show starts.

Look how Ren overcame his sensitivity to sounds, of course that is with the help of his friend, Spiderman hehehe.

Overall, we rate the experience 4/5

If you are not totally that hungry when you visit the place I suggest that you go ala carte.  I only had one set of food at the buffet table and for the price of Php 699.00 I feel that I should have eaten more.  Besides, you can take out the leftover ala carte order if you are already full.

Our Total bill is Php 1,928 +  Service Charge (Php 192.80) = Php 2, 120.80

Are we going to visit the place again? Absolutely!!!
