Unilever Pureit Water Purifier for Complete Germ Protection
The Unilever Team headed by Pureit Brand Manager Brian Duruin, visited us the other day to show and explain the function of their new product that is just recently available here in the Philippines- Unilever Pureit Water Purifier.
one is for demo, and the other one is for me… Yipee!!!![/caption]
After several days of using Unilever Pureit Water Purifier at home, I can already appreciate the promised advantage and convenience of its use. I am a mother who strives to offer my family the best of everything. One way of doing that is to take care of my family’s health and well-being.
Access to safe drinking water is a must at home. That is the reason why we choose to pay for bottled water or go to refilling stations to have clean drinking water even if it makes a considerable dent in the household budget. With Pureit in my kitchen, I do not only make safe drinking water available to my family. I will also be able to save money which can be used by us for our simple bonding activities.
The Realities of Buying Water from Refilling Stations
- Households will have to shell out from PHP 30 to 45 for every 5-gallon container of water. That amount easily adds up to thousands of pesos for 1 year drinking water consumption.
- It can be very inconvenient to go out of the house to buy water. Supply of drinking water may run out any time but you will not be always available to buy. It also has to be noted that water refilling stations and supermarkets have closing hours.
- The purified state of water cannot always be guaranteed because of the many instances of human handling and intervention that goes on when filling water containers in water refilling stations.
- Having the water delivered at home or at the office may entail additional costs and waiting time.
The Pureit Option
Unilever’s Pureit is a breakthrough innovation from the company that is well known for its leading brands like Close-up, Surf, Vaseline, Dove, Knorr, and Lipton, among others. It uses the “Programmed Germkill Technology”for its Multi-Stage Purification Process. This process can be more clearly explained as follows:
- The Sediment Filter removes visible dirt.
- The Germkill Processor targets and removes harmful viruses and bacteria.
- The Microfiber Mesh removes precipitated metallic impurities.
- The Carbon Polisher removes harmful parasites and chlorine for clear, odourless, and natural tasting water.
- The Microcharged Membrane purifies the water again and removes harmful parasites to provide the assurance of double protection.
Imagine the water is as yellow as the one being poured, we were surprised that when it reached the bottom of Pureit the water became clear and it does not have any bad smell at all.
The Pureit Germkill Kit can purify approximately 1500 litres of water before it needs to be replaced. There is a unique indicator which informs the owner of the remaining life of the kit. When the kit is nearing the end of its life, the indicator will show that it is time to buy a replacement.
The kit needs to be replaced at once when exhausted. An auto shut-off mechanism has been provided to shut off the supply of purified water in the event that the exhausted Germkill kit has not been noticed. This is to prevent family members from accidentally drinking unsafe water. The replacement kit cost P1,000.00
The Pureit Solution
- After the initial investment of buying the equipment, Pureit owners will just have to change the Germkill Kit when exhausted. This investment will be recouped after several months and the remaining life of the equipment will represent tremendous savings.
- You will never need to go out of the house to have clean drinking water. Water obtained from the home faucet will just have to placed in Pureit to be processed accordingly.
- You have maximum hygiene control for your drinking water since there will be no one else handling the very simple water purification process other than members of your household.
- There is absolutely no need to wait or pay for delivery of drinking water.
The Advantages Offered by Pureit
- The quality of purified water produced through Pureit meets the global safety norms of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), USA, one of the world’s most stringent regulatory authorities.
- The use of Pureit eliminates the need to buy expensive bottled water and the inconvenience of having to boil which is not always successful anyway in removing all contaminants.
- Pureit functions without electricity.
- Pureit is able to provide great tasting water in the most convenient and hygienic way.
A simple advice from one mommy to another: Get your Pureit now and free yourself from the worries of not being able to provide your family the safest drinking water possible.

I bought one in Kenya but the kit is no longer available in our country. How can I get the kit for 9 litres.
Rhea Liza orzame says
I have Unilever pureit at home, the the filter is not filtering anymore. Where we can buy a filter?
Mommy Levy says
at Lazada
Jules C says
I bought one at SM North the other day and my main problem is it’s taking too long for water to be filtered by Pureit. I left mine overnight and it only managed to produce about an inch of water on the transparent container on my first try. On second try, it took about 2 hours to produce 4 inches of water on the transparent container. Left it overnight again on the 3rd try, and by morning I only had about an inch of water again. I’m very frustrated.

We bought our Pureit Excella from SM Marikina on their 3day sale last September, and so far we are disappointed to the one we bought, what Pierre said with his comments two years ago was true
leaks are everywhere from the faucet to the divider of 2nd and 3rd level, that happens when the 3rd level is full then the 2nd level has medium amount of water
right now we are still trying to tell the customer support our problem and hoping for a quick solution to the issue with their product
keu says
Hi where cn i buy dt germkill kit?
Mommy Levy says
I saw some in SM Home Store
Ann says
Hi Mommy Levy, ask ko lng po if i buy the germ kill kit and replace the old one babalik po ba ung chlorine taste?
Mommy Levy says
I think oo kasi new filter
Bambom says
DON’T BUY!!! (YET)
We have small red ants inside the purifier. They are floating in the water. I tried cleaning many times and making sure that there is no place they can enter, but they still find a way.
Just recently, I found a very small cockroach in the top chamber of the purifier.
I’m very disappointed with this product.

Thank you for the very valuable information shared to us. I have been browsing the internet in search for something to purify our drinking water at home. I chanced upon a website and their unit is costing almost Php19k.
This Pureit would be perfect for home use for about 5people. But I have a doubt on the water supply we have in the subdivision…it is from a deep well. Will this Pureit work its purpose?
Coz I badly need one. Thank you.
Mommy Levy says
Yes Pure It can be used in deep well water
Nino G. Alcantara says
Every unit of Pure-It Excella should be flash-out before use, which means three to five cycles should be done before usage to get rid of the chlorine like taste.
The authorized service center is Advanced Electronics Service Corporation under Collins International Trading Corporation with Tel. No. (02) 217-80-26 (www.collins-ph.com).
Josephine says
Hi, I have mine from lazada my problem is wherr can I buy the germkillkit? If you know where please help me to provide the contact if available here in Cebu much better. One thing is where can we ask for maintenance if something wrong with the system Is there a repair service and warranties offered?
Thanks for the blog!
Mommy Levy says
Hi Josephine, I saw a germkill kit at Abensons and Robinson Department Store. I think you can bring the unit at the area where you bought it if you find something wrong.
Pierre says
Sharing our own experience with consumers still planning to buy. The faucet is not strong enough to withstand heavy water pressure from above and leaks if you put too much water. In other words, for the unit to work you cannot fill the container to the brim as it will cause leakage. You can only refill water when the lower chamber is half full or empty. It can be tedious to monitor such things plus the plastic used to construct the container is thin and can pinch the fingers when you are trying to put them in place.

I actually bought one unit of Pureit and I was disappointed. I’ve read all the manual and checked if I did something wrong because the water that comes out from it taste like chlorine. I tried to reach the phone numbers printed on the unit and it just kept on ringing. In short, I cannot reach them.
Laura Aborde says
Return it to the store. I am planning to return to the store the one I bought.
Dione says
Hi Mommy Levy, the savings computation applies to households where water costs at P35/container. You can recover your buying cost (through the savings you get) in about 9.3 months that is if the household is consuming six 5-gallon containers per week. Which means, one should be willing to spend about 9.3 months in advance and really experience savings only after this period.
Before one should buy, I would encourage to do some pencil pushing so as to avoid disappointments due to wrong expectations. In my case where the cost is only P25/container, it would take me about 1 year to really feel the savings. We consume about 28 containers per month.
In other words, it is better to use Pureit if the cost of water in your area is higher.
Mommy Levy says
Thank you for your comment Dione. I understand your concern about the cost, but I would like also to emphasize that buying PureIt is still a better choice if you want to make sure that you are drinking a clean water. As I have mentioned, by using PureIt, you have maximum hygiene control for your drinking water since there will be no one else handling the very simple water purification process other than members of your household. Buying this is an investment but doing that will give you the assurance that your family is drinking the safest water possible.
Dione says
Regarding the safety, I strongly agree. Cheers!
Jacui says
Yes, i agree with you mommy levy. Much true. May 2 kids ako kaya yon dn ang after ko…ang safety ng mga anak ko. Galing ako sa ficco knina dto sa amin ksi plan ko kumuha ng pureit unit. I love it..!
Thanks for your blog 😊😊

Makikicomment lang. Yes you are correct on the ROI nun investment might take that long pero you see if you will compare on having one now and invest the money you supposed to spend for 1 yr supply of water buying from the water refilling station then by the time you have reached 1 yr using that investment wala kanang bibilhing water. that is savings already. if hindi ka bumili after a year you will still shell out 25 pesos per 5 gallons of water and will continue to do so. so it is still make sense to invest on this kind of water purification machine kahit ba 25 pesos per 5 gallons ang bentahan sa area nyo. Another thing, me concern also kasi ako on water station, if you still dont know and maybe you can ask them, on how many times do they really clean their tank? and i heard that diba me mga stages ng water filtration ang mga water station some skip daw other steps kasi mas costly and inorder for them to compete from those who sells water at cheaper price. yan ang isa kong issue kasi i have a friend na nagbanggit sakin about that. so nagulat lang din ako.. anyway.. its up to you padin naman if you will rather spend talaga continuously on buying water. 5k is 5k padin e malaki padin ang initial investment.. But ako im considering on buying it.. Tapos me 3 months 0% pa hahaha.. masilip nga abenson mamaya.. Thanks for this blog mommy levy..

Hi I just want to ask if at first use does the water have this chlorine like taste ? Just bought pureit water purifier 2 days ago and tastes like chlorine.
Mommy Levy says
Yes, ganun talaga. Just continuously use it until the chlorine taste is gone.
lei says
Thank you mommy levy for your response. Just a bit anxious sa unang try pag inom ng water because I have a 3 yr old toddler just want to make sure if its really safe to drink. Thanks again
Joy So says
I just want to ask if Pureit water purifier can be good also for a deepwell water but treated by the water company in our area?thanks
Mommy Levy says
Yes you can use this Pureit water even for untreated water.
sherry ann gole cruz says
i would love to have this,we are using deep well water so this will make our water more safe to use
June Real says
I like the ” auto shut-off mechanism” and for the initial investment of P4,998, it would be very wise to move forward with this 🙂
Yamito Uytingco Calamba says
This is a great way for families especially moms to save on drinking water but make sure the family is protected.
Joey Tibayan-Bayan says
I might look into this instead of buy water from a shop.
Kai Grafia says
Wow! From what I’ve read, I think it’s time for me to buy one too. We’ve been shelling out too much money from buying at water refilling stations. 🙁 Hope we’ll have that in Zamboanga soon.
Alyssa (@heyitsalyssayu) says
This is very convenient! At home, we currently order water from water refilling stations, and I agree, it’s more costly and has long waiting time.
maricel p. villanueva says
this is a very nice product thinking of getting one for my family
Rebel Sweetheart says
After reading your post, I’m considering buying our own Pure It. Will check if this is available na here in Laguna. 🙂
leira says
Suprisingly its not that expensive but I think its worth the investment.
Kathy Lacuna says
This is indeed a great alternative to buying purified water in water refilling stations. This way I am even sure that our water is processed in the most hygienic way because we will be doing the processing ourselves. Thanks for this post.
Mommy Levy says
You are absolutely right Kathy.
Jhanis says
I think this will be a great investment! We have to buy mineral water too and it does end up being costly towards the end. I’ll check if they have a service center here in Cebu.
Mommy Levy says
I hope that this Unilever Pureit will be available in Cebu soon. If you look at its benefits, I think this is one of the appliances that every household should have.
