Flores de Mayo at school
My son had an activity at the school last Wednesday.Β They had Flores de Mayo this month of September π It was his first time to do it, and I am glad that he didn’t whine while wearing his Barong Tagalog.
Look how handsome he is π
Unfortunately, there were only 5 students present that day.Β I think the school decided to do this activity even though it’s not the month of May because September was Mama Mary’s birth month.
Flores de Mayo (Spanish: “Flowers of May”) is a Catholic and Aglipayan festival held in the Philippines in the month of May. Lasting for a month, it is held in honor of the Virgin Mary. The name is derived from Flores, the Spanish word for “flowers”. Also known as “Flores de MarΓa” (“Flowers of Mary”) or “Γlay” (Filipino for “offering”), the term refers to the party as a whole.- via wikipedia.org
Thank you to my dear Nanay for the Barong Tagalog.
