Nuat Thai Libis: An affordable service that will make you feel like a King and Queen

Being in front of the computer and sitting down most of the time must be a dream job for some, but it is also stressful and can make your muscles stiff.  I am glad to have received an invite to check out a spa in Libis – the NUAT THAI Foot and Body Massage.  Nuat Thai originated from Cebu City and started operating last January 2005. The Nuat Thai Libis is one of the franchise stores that is running for 2 years now.

Yesterday, my nanay (mother) was at home, so we can leave my son with her for the day, and with that, hubby and I decided to go out for a date.  We went for an adventure going to Libis because we commute all the way from Paco.  I was used to travel at a young age using public transportations but hubby isn’t.  When we reached Eastwood, the Jeepney stopped for almost 10-15 minutes to wait for other commuters.  At this point, hubby was getting quite annoyed.  Good thing, that Nuat Thai Libis pampered us like a King and Queen when we arrived, and hubby’s mad face turned bright and refreshed afterwards.

Nuat Thai is one example of the saying “Don’t judge the book by it’s cover”.

The place might be simple when you look at it outside, but wait until you see what’s awaits for you inside.  It is enchanting and huge.  I can’t believe that they have 20 rooms plus 3 shower rooms and a separate foot massage room.  When we entered, we were greeted by the smell of the scent of peppermint and a relaxing ambient sound that will make you feel that you have just stepped into a different world.

They have two kinds of beds: the elevated and the one that is on the floor.  The Thai massage is usually done on the bed at the floor because it requires a lot of point pressures on the body.

We were given a pair of slippers first and they washed our feet before the actual massage.

They also asked us what scent we want for our massage: Lavander, Eucalyptus and Green Tea.  I chose Green Tea for me and hubby.

We were then treated to a Thai Foot Massage first (P250).  The lights were dim while they massaged our feet so it’s not impossible to fall asleep.  They have also put hot packs on our backs and necks to make us feel more relaxed.

After the one hour foot massage, we were then ushered to our room by our designated massage therapists.  You can take a shower first if you want for a minimal amount of P50.00

Our therapists did the 1 1/2 hours Aromatherapy Massage (P550) for us.  It is a combination of Thai and Swedish massage with herbal balls.  The herbal balls are said to remove colds in your back which hubby and I have a lot.

I am not comfortable with the lights on in the room while I am bare naked even with a short on, so I asked my therapist if she can turn off the lights, I am glad that she said “yes”.  This is my first ever body massage and I was glad that I got it from here and my experience was very pleasant and not traumatic.

Unlike other Spa’s who have a couples room, here hubby and I were on separated rooms.  I was glad that it happened that way because I could hear him snoring in the middle of our massage session. If we were in the same room, I would have thrown my pillow to him to awaken him up and he will be conscious and thus become restless because he is quite ticklish.

What I loved with Nuat Thai Libis:

• Clean rooms
• Free Wi-Fi
• Relaxing sound
• The smell of the whole area

What I don’t like:

• Libis is quite far from our place, will try to check out their other Nuat Thai branches near us.
