The Picture Company photography session

I saw nice portraits taken by The Picture Company before.  This photo studio is good in taking portraits of babies, pregnant women, toddlers, families and couple.

When I saw that they offered a photo session promo on one of the deal sites, I did not hesitate to grab it.  I wanted to have a nice family portrait of our entire family this year.

The deal was about to end this Saturday, and I decided to just give it as a gift to my brother and his fiancee that will get married this month.  They have a limited budget for the wedding, so they don’t have Pre-Nuptial pictures yet.

It’s a good thing that both of them do not have work last Tuesday because it’s a holiday, so we decided to take that opportunity to go to The Pictures Company at the Mall of Asia where I chose to have the pictures taken.  A reservation was needed before the planned session, so I called the branch to reserve the 4 o’clock time slot for us.

We arrived at the store an hour before the scheduled photo session, so I first showed my brother the photo album with some sample shots from their previous clients.  I already told them that it’s better if their clothes were color coordinated but he didn’t listen, so when they saw that white clothes are better in the pictures, they asked me if they could buy shirts outside.  We were still early, so we decided to buy clothes at the department store first.

After buying clothes, we huriedly went back before the scheduled time.  Unfortunately, all the photographers were still occupied taking and editing pictures of the clients before us, so we waited for another hour to finally do the photo session.

When, they were finally called to get ready, I asked the staff if I could go inside with them.  I was intrigued to know how the photo session was done so I was glad that they agreed that I could come, together with my son.

I took some photos inside from the mirror, until the photographer told me that it is forbidden.  I thought she already saw me the first time I clicked my camera and since I only have a point and shoot camera, I thought she would just let me do it.  I was wrong bleeh!

After the photo session, we were asked to come back after an hour to see the edited/enhance copy where we can choose from.  We had our dinner first while waiting.

When we came back after an hour, the photos were not yet ready so we waited for a few minutes more.

Then, finally the wait is over, we saw the outcome of the photo session.  Our deal from the groupon site only consists of (1) 8r and (1) 5r. The lady photographer told us that we can add 3 more 8r to be printed but we have to pay for P2,900 and it doesn’t include any soft copies.

As I have said, the couple has a limited budget so that amount is still too expensive for them (and for me also!).  They ended up, just choosing what to print in 8r and in 5r.

Here are the things I liked at The Pictures Company:
1. No doubt, they take great pictures because of the good lightning, props and cameras.
2. Staff are friendly.

What I don’t like:
1. The P2,500/ year membership fee for me is quite expensive since it is good for 1 year only.
2. They didn’t follow the scheduled time.  I wonder what is the use of a reservation if this things happen.
3. Doesn’t provide soft copy of at least the chosen pictures, the clients have paid for them anyway.
